- IIT(ISM) Dhanbad has beautiful campus. It has Asia's largest library.
- Center of attraction is Heritage Building.
- Sports facilities are also good. Seperate gym for boys and girls.
Dislikes
- Mess food quality is not good.Library is not avaliable 24*7.
- Night out is not allowed. You are allowed to go outside college after 10 PM
- Wifi quality is also not good. It turns off anytime Even during internship season
Course Curriculum Overview
IIT(ISM) Dhanbad has almost all relevant courses. But the worst thing about their curriculum is that you must study 1 course in all departments irrespective of your department or branch. But this is going to change in 2-3 years as new Education policy is going to resolve this issue.
Internships Opportunities
You get an internship offer after 4th semester. Almost every company offers intern offers. Uber offers the most stipend of 1,77000 RS per month and many companies like Microsoft, DE & show, and Goldman Sachs offer 1.5 Lac per month. The minimum CGPA required for it is 7.
Placement Experience
Internship offers start for students after the 4th semester and placement starts after 6th semester. You may also get a Pre-placement offer from the company where you intern. Last year, the highest CTC offered for CSE was 55.51 LPA with a 91% placement ratio.
Fees and Financial Aid
For general category students, 1 lac is tuition fee, 18 K is Hostel-Mess Fee and 18 K is co-curricular fee. Scholarships are available for all students based on their CGPA (for 1st-year students, the scholarship is according to their JEE Advance Rank) And many more scholarships are available.
Campus Life
Life at IIT(ISM) is quite good. You have a technical club (Cyberlabs), and cultural clubs (LCI, Fotofreks, WTC, LITM,..). It has 3 major fests => Srijan(Cultural fest), Concetto(technical fest), and Prakaram (Sports fest).
Hostel Facilities
During the time of physical registration, they will tell you which hostel you will get. Hostel mess food is not so good. 1 room is allotted to 2 boys. You will get new built Aquamarine hostel in 2nd year( for 2nd and 3rd year) and in the final year, you will get a single room(1 room for 1 boy).
Admission
Admission to IIT(ISM) Dhanbad is according to your JEE Advance rank. For the general CSE boy, the opening rank was 1181 and the closing rank was 3031. All admission details will be sent to you at your institute mail address by the college.
Faculty
The faculty ratio is quite ok but most of them don't care about students like are they actually understanding that topic or not. Some of them are really good and listen to students' queries. You can meet them at their in their respective department building from 10 AM to 6 PM.
