Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The BSE medical course is somehow very much well planned and the more focused to what we've learned in our 11th and 12th standard, one can definitely say it's just an advanced version of what we have already started. Secondly, the improvement that the teachers could have done during the teaching methods. Were that they could have used more of the practical uh side of teaching instead of just focusing on theoretical or problem solving ways because the chemistry is well differentiated into practical as well as theoretical knowledge so more practical along with. Practical classes should be conducted. Similarly, botany zoology had a very vast syllabus, which could be overwhelming for few students. And similarly, the faculty didn't use much of the practical stuff to make the concepts clear, but still the facility that was provided for botany and zoology was experienced. And did their job the best way It is true that the curriculum designed does not prepares one for real world application

Placement Experience

2.5

In postgraduate government college sector 11 all the students that are in final year are eligible for campus placements. And if you are a BSC biotechnologu honours student, then you do get internships after your second year in various hospitals around Chandigarh, but for non honours students The placements are not that much impressive. In 2024, the placements that were introduced for the final year.Students especially for the science students were not very interesting and not very much oriented according to the course. If it's to be concluded Then the placements provided our average the amount of students getting placements is less.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for BSc medical is very much similar in every affiliated college and along with fees, there are some extra charges for hostel, mays etc. If you are not a UT resident other than that if you belong to a reservation category such as SC ST OBC etc.concessions are provided, concessions are also. Provided on the basis of. The reservations that are made for students belonging to sports category belonging to defence or single girl child category. There are also some scholarships and some funds given to students scholarship schemes launched by Govt.of India available at site https://scholarships.gov.in under National Scholarship Portal. Some of these scholarships that I came across while studying in this college were scholarships provided by the Central government. Then the scholarships that I mainly heard of while studywere provided to single girl child.Or the scholarship provided to the Northeastern people. There were many scholarships that were Ugc provided. And also state provided

Campus Life

3.5

In postgraduate government college sector11, The number of functions or events is comparatively less to a private institute or Punjab university. But for commerce and art students, there are departmental events and quizzes arranged but also for science students. There is 2 events that are arranged every year out of which one is chemistry, fest and second is. A science exhibition then in the college. Every year, sports meet is also arranged in which all students from different departments can take part in various type of sports and further activities. There are various types of clubs such as debating club, acting club etc. In which students can take part according to their liking and also go for competitions such as interschool competition or participate in Punjab university youth festival, There are various dance competitions also in which selective students are selected based upon their dancing ability. And they go for inter college or national competitions.

Admission

If one wants to do bsc from Punjab university then you have to give Common Entrance exam for undergraduate and on the basis of your scores you will get admission. The Punjab university UGCET takes place after 12th results and mainly all exam centers are in chandigarh only. You want to take admission in PU affiliated college then the admission criteria depends upon the 12th marks. The students that belong to any of the reservation based on caste.Or sports quota single girl child on Northeastern or other any reservation do get scholarships and separate seats and upto 5% weightage. The Punjab university exams difficulty level is moderate. But if you are aiming to get into Punjab university science, then you do have to start your preparation right after your boards. And because the number of seats are very less and the students are comparatively more also. If you are from punjabi university management or a NRI then there are separate seats.

Faculty

3

The facility to student ratio is not somehow balanced, sometimes there is less students and more teachers, and sometimes it is Vica versa like for 5th semester or fourth semester, there was no organic chemistry teacher provided to BSc medical and non-medical students. Similarly, there was no biotech teacher provided to BSE biotechnology students for 1st year. And third semester. So overall the ratio is not very well-balanced. Although the facility is very experienced and teachers very well, but there are few teachers who are experienced. But their teaching method is not very clear.Or there's no use of any practical methods to make the topic more clear to the students

Other Applied Colleges

1. Flexibility of course and type it has to be done . For further academic pursuits definitely yes but for real world application as of now except computer application there is no real world application of this as of physics it is more derivation type topic is covered in the first semester as of now. I course should be designed to prepare for real world application not the old school craming and derivation type. Exam happen twice a year in april and in novembor-december and of moderate level

Being a Science student , I loved my curriculum as it provides application parts with laboratories . I choose this course as I always wanted to learn more about science and its various fields. For me overall curriculum is good and have moderate level but I would suggest to reduce the syllabus little bit so that most of the students can learn whole syllabus Exams are being conducted regularly as per the University guidelines.
