Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum is pretty relevant and really let's you choose from IT or Core based on your interest. I have had programming, DSA, cloud computing, ML and IOT that helped me understand my field of interest that was IT. We also had Signal and Systems, Microcontroller, Control systems, Digital Electronics that allowed few of my friends to understand they are more interested into the Electronics side whereas subjects like Machines, Power System, Industrial Electrical System that allowed few of my friends to understand they are interested into the core electrical field. Added to that there are some unnecessary courses, I think removing them would make it easier tbh. And i don't know including GATE into curriculum in 3rd and 4th year makes no sense, cause a lot of us didn't even want to pursue that, but all they said was we would regret not even attempting GATE.

Fees and Financial Aid

When I was studying, it costed me 70k per semester, 1200/- for semester exam fees. But as far as I know the fees have increased due to the fact that most department now are NBA accredited. Although, the college does provide financial assistance for students who lost a parent or are financially struggling. I have had a student in my class who was completing his education free of cost after 1st year. For campus employment, I think there are two options IEM IDC and IEM LABS where you can be a part of R&D team and help develop projects and register patents. You can publish research papers, and that money will be refunded by college, and I am not sure but think you get money from college for registering a patent too.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is pretty bland. No big cafeterias, or canteens for you to chill and enjoy. A small basket ball court in the name of a ground. I think the cultural festival (IEMPACT) is held during even semester and the technical fest during the odd semester. It's nothing extraordinary with only few local artists, or college student perfomances an I have never attended any of it throughout college. As per library, the books and journal available are really great in number. If you are a regular student you might even be featured in the monthly hall of fame with the amount of hours you've spent. I think the library is open every day but not sure of timings. The sports department is really good with and you'll be part of lot of inter college competition along with inter department too. Indoor games and gym exist too. Clubs are like available in any other college, IET, IEI, ISHRAE and in social there's a charity club Uttaran in the EE department who do fund raising and donate to the needy

Admission

The admission is solely based on cut off WBJEE and JEE, and I think the college does have its own admission test but I am not aware if anyone ever took it. Once you're done with admission, you will be again called for registration with the university. Pretty easy and hassle free.

Faculty

4

3 to 4 faculty for 28 students during lab classes and 2 faculty for each subject in case of theory. Most faculties will be very cooperative and helpful. You can even talk to them about research paper or you can also ask them to incorporate you into the large level funded projects that they are a part of. You can build personal projects with their guidance. Some of them will also incorporate you into other extra curriculum activities. You can interact with them, for me I have had good relationships with most of my faculty, and you are also assigned a mentor to have a one on one with any academic or outside academic problems.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
