Course Curriculum Overview

4

From the beginning of my engineering career I wanted to take up mechanical engineering as my first preference but with time I developed a interest in the business market and after researching about production engineering I concluded that it gives you an opportunity to learn financing and statistics alongside mechanical subjects.

Internships Opportunities

4

The intership season mainly starts from 3rd year or if a student want they can apply internship in the 2md yr but it's quite tough to have one at that point of time without any prior experience. Companies like airbus, Aditya Birla group, TCS , zs associates, ITC are being seen giving internships to students with a stifend of near 10k. The student mainly needs to work on their cgpa and they should do some projects in the field they are interested in which a catalise their chance of getting internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement of jadavpur University have been top notch all over the years. There were international offers in the year 2022,2023 and 2024 valueing upto 1.5cr. The students are eligible for the placement opportunities from the 4th year and Internships opportunities from the 2nd yr. The average package of Jadavpur University is nearly 12lpa and highest is of 1.5cr, the placement rates in branches like mechanical and civil is 100% and branches like CSE and production it is over 96%. If I talk about my plans , I am opting for an MBA after a two year job from graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of studying production engineering is nearly 20k including everything. There is also a Scope for students with less privileges to apply for freeship which allows them to take up free education. The college also provides alumini scholarships, oasis scholarships and many more. There is no such campus employment opportunities but students can join different clubs according to their passion and can increase their skills and then go for jobs.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus Life is very joyful and very happening, no one will get bore with this campus Life. The university holds mainly 2 fests one srijan(tech fest)and one Sanskriti which are held during the end week of March. The college is home to 2nd largest library in west bengal and has a variety of books those are not even available in the market. The classrooms are mostly air conditioned and clean and looking at the fees with is the best a man can get. The college also has sports qouta and students may apply with that certificate. Their are 2 major sports tournaments held at the campus one is uturn which is mainly for 1st years and another is arena which is for the whole departments. The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
