Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was mindblowing except when some subjects were supposed to be core subjects, they were given as electives. This made us choose between two subjects that students would have wanted to study together.
Internships Opportunities
Under the guidance and reference of the department placement coordinator, internships were offered in DRDO to the students. However, stipend was not provided for these internships but it was a great way to gain experience and the learn the insights of the military sector of India.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for college placements from the 7th semester provided they have cleared all the backlogs. different companies have different requirements from the students and a portal was presented to manage the companies which the students can apply.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are not easily available in SRMIST. The complete cost of the course is a lot but worth it because of the reputed name of the university and placement opportunities. Placements are available to all students and many companies come for campus recruitment.
Campus Life
Since I started off college as a covid batch, all the club involvements were online but once the college started, many different events were conducted such as MILAN, AARUSH, and SAE events. Students from different colleges took part in it and the campus life was different and enjoyable during those days.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is to clear the SRMJEE examination which I hadn't taken due to COVID. But overall for some courses admission is relatively easy because of the excess seats available. The admission process could be made easier.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is almost 3:10. Since there is a shortage of faculties, sometimes the classes would be combined which was a little difficult to manage. Many faculties even managed 2 to 3 subjects for the same class. The interaction with faculties was good since they were available for one on one interaction too.
