NDRI is a premier institute offering the best Dairy Tech courses in India. Association with such a prestigious college was always an honour. Moreover the campus and the facilities seemed attractive. The fee structure also is a big advantage to add on.

Dairy tech course includes a curriculum which trains you not only in technical education relating milk but also is an overall development course. Being a foodie, I could relish what we used to make in our practical classes in the tasting sessions. The college spends fair amount of resourses to offer each graduate to learn through practicals during the course.

Yes, NDRI is associated with Dairy giants like Nestle, GSK, Danone, Abott and the techies like Tetrapak, Alfa Laval where in we students are offered interships with the stipend ranging from 15000 INR to 50000 INR.

In terms of placements, students are pretty much satisfied as most of us are placed well in the industry. 100% placements. Companies offering jobs include Nestle, GSK, Danone, Tetrapak, Abbott, Mother Dairy, Amul, Verka etc. As career, the profession is slow but steady as compared to other engineering fields.

Inter ICAR sports meet Inter ICAR cultural event(Reverie) Intra college cultural event(vasantosava) Intra college sports event Various other scientist meets where common topics of Dairy and Food are discussed. Be it the Ganpati Visarjan which paints the hostels red or the shallow pit Holi, we at NDRI celebrated almost everything irrespective of location of the college. Diversity in the students envisaged this.

Fee structure is very economic. I incurred only 6200 INR as my annual tution fees. Hostel charges were mere 2000 INR (annual). Admission and security fees were close to 20000 INR. Other expenses were also within limit and very much affordable. There were no out of the way demands or expenses.

Yes, ICAR offers a scholarship of 2000 INR per month for students from states other than Haryana in NDRI Karnal

Campus life is cool with minimal restrictions on males and a secure environment for females. Gender ratio is skewed towards males. Other than sports facilities, world class library On Dairy/Food science is there. Computer lab, equipment lab s and other facilities are also there and are a part of curriculum.

Hostel is quite spacious with a dedicated library/ reading room. Has a cricket ground, 2 basketball courts, a football ground, volleyball courts, indoor badminton courts, gymnasium, table tennis and tennis facilities if I am not missing some. Hostel mess is run by students and the food is good and affordable.

NDRI has a strong Alumni network with dairy professionals working all over the industry. We have an annual Alumni meet in September to strengthen the bonds in Karnal. We are coonected through other social media networks as facebook, whatapp, LinkdIn etc.

Exam structure includes internal exams contributing 20% marks and external exams contributing 80% marks in theory and practical, once in a six month semester. There are six such semesters. Last year of the course includes training which is evaluated through a viva session at the end of each semester.

After qualifying the ICAR entrance exam, appeared in the counselling and got admission.ICAR forms are available online on the web site. After qualifying the exam a list of colleges offering Dairy Tech,Food Tech and agricultural science courses (for Non Medical student) are there to choose where selection is done on the basis of choice and marks.

The faculty includes the renowned scientists in dairy field in India. Having years of experience in research, they exhibit thier duties to impart knowledge quite well. Extensive practical approach displays the principle of learning by doing. The facility exposed us to the industry environment as well.
