Likes
- The environment of campus is very good it is well maintained campus with e buses for the students and the facility to use the e buses free if charge as the campus is very big .
- The canteens are also good for the varitey of food as there is differnt canteen for each department and also then there are common canteens for libaray and other cafes
- There are around 3 atm in the campus which provide easy access although the entire campus supports online payment at every canteen and even mess
Dislikes
- Also sometimes the e buses are not available and cars are not easily allowed so you have to walk your walk in the entire campus
- The hostels indeed need some upgradation .
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum I chose was due to my interest in business and Amristar had a lot of business families therefore the Business department was full of students from the same background discussing how they are working or dealing with the local market. Although there can be an area for improvement when it comes to industrial exposure which is zero here. The timings of exams are good and in favor of students mostly.
Placement Experience
Although I am going for a master's but there are placements offered right after my bachelor's as well. Students go through written exams and interviews at the placement department which is Maharaja Ranjit Singh's department. Companies that offer placements are even the local ones.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee for such a prestigious institution is affordable. Also, there are different types of scholarships available for each and every student with valid reasons. Poor student aid for sc/obc that provides complete relief. Financial aid for students from the general category is also there which provides relief from other charges only a nominal examination fee of 1900-/-
Campus Life
The campus life is very good and full of different events Theirs is jashan inter-department Then youth festival Then there are diffent events help at department level The Holi celebration is simply the most celebrated event by every department Also, diwali celebrations are good and vary from department to department. The sports tournaments are also quite good with inter-department competitions When it comes to clubs there is a music club that is very active and conducts mehfil for the hostel students, every Wednesday at 6 pm like a small get together
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are just rooms with the almirah according to no. of students and wooden beds but in some, there are cemented beds in case of two-seaters The almirahs of every other is different and one can lock their stuff Also, balconies are there The meal varies from mess to mess and the menu is fixed The registration is also from the same portal designed for the hostel just need permission from the department first and afterward complete the details 20000 for a year is very affordable
Admission
The eligibility is merit-based at our time as it was Covid period Now they take entrance exams very seriously as there are even institutions helping students prepare for GNDU entrance The websites of this university is quite user-friendly and easy to navigate www.gndu.ac.in
Faculty
The faculty there is a mix of experienced teachers and some are on contracts. The experienced professors are very good and one can easily approach them for any guidance they are quite supportive in one-to-one conversations. But the ones under fellowship programs are different and they really need real guidance. Some fellows are also good at guidance so it varies.
