JSPM's RSCOE Polytechnic, Diploma review

The course curriculum was decided by the MSBTE board , the curriculum was not that updated for our scheme. But the scheme has changed now for the new students , the new scheme has an updated curriculum with all the latest trends and subjects taken in mind. The curriculum in more practical based for the new students , but it was more theoretical in the older scheme. In the current scheme the students would gain a lot of practical knowledge and be very strong in that field. All the subjects are good and of latest tech. For programming we have subjects for different languages and softwares used for each are also latest. The only disadvantage i would say in that the information or the syllabus related to each subject is not that deep and does not cover all the aspects of that subject. We need to self study a lot to gain extra knowledge related to that particular subject

The college provides various employment opportunities in various companies. The TPO of our college is very good and has lot of contacts so he is always successful in bringing recruiters that provide good package. For computer department we had KPIT as a major recruiter last year who offered paclage of 3.5 lpa to students along with free degree in BITS pilani.

The yearly fees is 59000 and all the government approved scholarships like ebc , tfws are available. I was myself got a scholarship through tfws due to which i only had to pay fees of 7696 per year! They also have management quota. The college brings many companies for placement opportunities, for computer department last year we even had kpit as one of the recruiter which offered a package of 3.5 lpa to students along with a degree in BITS pilani.

The campus life is not that good. We do have healthy competition between students but it can only be applicable for computer department. For other departments the students are not disciplined and interested in studies at all. The college has no facilities for sports and does not even have a ground. There is ground of blossom public school were we can play but have time restrictions and not that big ground. The college does not even organises much events and the events which are organised are always low budget and not thay fun. The labs are good and upgraded but dont have reading hall or good library. The washrooms are maintained properly and good. We have projectors but most of them dont work!

The admission process is a normal cap round process. The cap rounds are taken by the msbte committee itself The college also has management quota option for admission. The cutoff when i took admission was 87 percent for open category and around 93 percent for tfws. The intake capacity has now increased for computer department and cutoff has also lowered a bit.

The teachers were friendly and we had quite good number of teacher , for every subject we had different teachers. The teachers for computer department were not at all experienced except a few. They all lacked practical knowledge a lot and even lacked theoretical knowledge. All of them were well qualified but didnt have that teaching skills in them. We could approach and talk to them whenever we want but they couldnt really slove our doubts , everyone was allowed to ask doubts and ask for help whenever we want but they that didnt quite help because the teachers were not that experienced. None of them could speak fluent english too! They lacked communication skills. Teachers didnt even give good internal marks to everyone. You need to be every teachers chamcha and keep on helping them to get average to good marks. It was not at all a good faculty. But the faculty of other departments which taught us subjects related to electronics were very good , experienced and very strong practicall
