Remarks

As that's a government college, the funds are huge but that should be used in a proper direction. Some good faculties should be appointed. The college is inside by almost 1 km from the main road. So no frequency of public transport till to the college gate.

Entrance Preview

1) It is in the top 5 government colleges of Gujarat. 2) Being a government college, the infrastructure is too large. The lab facilities are really good. A separate building for each branch. Besides, Boy's hostel, girl's hostel, garden area, ground to play and organise some of the events etc.. 3) Being a government college, the discipline is also good. The lectures will be conducted very well. 4) Currently the college is also getting the placements from companies like TCS, QuickHeal, eInfochips, Argusoft etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

In GTU, the course curriculum is moderate. At times, we don't like it because in the first 2 semesters a person need to learn the subjects of other branch too which would be of NO use at the end. Even in 3rd to 6th Semester there is one subject that is not related to your field. So I strongly feel that GTU needs to re-evaluate their course curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

The college does not provide the internship. As per the rules of GTU, you need do an internship in the 7th and 8th Semester from a company. For that a student needs to approach to a company and to follow the well defined procedure (different from company to company) to get an internship over there. And even the stipend will also vary based on the company.

Placement Experience

3

The TPO is good and being in the top 5 government colleges of Gujarat, the placement opportunities are good. (Not excellent, but yes, I can mark it as Good.) I have seen the companies like TCS, QuickHeal, eInfochips, Argusoft etc. coming over there to conduct the placement.

College Events

2.5

The attraction of every college i.e. Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Signature Day, Valentine's Day etc. along with some games and events within those days are celebrated very well in the college. Apart from that, there is and internal tech-fest also organised each year in the college. On flag hosting day, the toppers of the batch (after 4th Semester) would b given the certificate.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being an government college, the fee structure is nearly negligible. The fee is as low as 1500 rupees per semester. So it's obvious that the seats in such government colleges will be full each year. Specially an attraction for those having higher ranks in the merits.

Fees and Financial Aid

As per my knowledge, there is no such loan facility provided by the college. And to be honest, there is no need for loan for paying fees as fees are very nominal. There can be scholarship facility but I'm NOT really sure about that.

Campus Life

4

There is a tech-fest in the college every year where the students can take part and compete. The tech-fest contains all kind of normal and technology related events including Robotics, Debates etc.. Once there was a cricket tournament between the different departments. Gender ratio is like near to equal but still that depends on the stream. Like in ME, Civil the boys are more while in BM the girls are more.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are good. Also being a government college, the rates are nominal. The canteen is so so type. Moderate in terms of size and cleanness. The canteen rates are normal. And obviously canteen is a good place for gathering and to have fun. There is also library and stationary section in the college.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumani network is not that strong but yes the contacts for the senior students are available and some of them will try to help you out for placement related things and all.

Exam Structure

Exam Structure is good. There will be a mid-term exams for every semester which will be around after 2-3 months of the starting of the semester. Near to the end of the semester, the assignments would be given and there would be viva exams And there would be final GTU exam at the end.

Admission

- There is an online procedure to get enrolled in any of the engineering college of Gujarat coming under GTU. - The online procedure has been started just a few years before and managed by ACPC. - It's just a choice filling procedure and you need to fill your choices (based on college and branch) in a priority based hierarchy and based on that choice filling and your merit the seat will be allocated to you. - There are a few rounds and you can change the order of your seats before the next rounds.

Faculty

3

The faculty of the college is moderate. Sometimes they will try to help you out in every possible scenarios. But being a government college they seems to be a little lazy in giving lectures and completing the syllabus. Sometimes the lectures being taken by the ME faculties.

There is no major problem in the curriculum regarding to the course. The curriculum covers almost all major real-world applications. But, the there is so much detailed and compulsive study on techniques that are not even used in today's time.

Placements are good. Students are eligilble for campus placements from 7th semester. The highest package is 2100000 and the lowest is 200000. The median package is 3.5 to 4.5 lakhs per year. From last two years there was 100% placements but usually its 90%. I plan to pursue pg after this degree in either mtech or mba.
