Entrance Preview

Its a good college in south delhi with lots of flexibility. My friend were in Shaheed Bhagat Singh college. I was not able to get admission there due to shortage of 1 mark. But overall enjoyed the entire 3 years along with my CA course. I got good professors

Course Curriculum Overview

Great knowledge enhancement. I got cleared my CA foundation as well due to regular classes in college + foundation classes somewhere else. Mix of knowledge helped me to score highest in Law in my college & topped in the colledge. Overall curriculum was well made by Delhi University.

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea. I never availed that if it was there. I was doing my articleship training under CA which is compulsory for doing CA.

Placement Experience

At that time, there was no such facility available in the university. I was concentrating on CA & didn't even gave a thought of any placement or so. I had no time to actually find out these things. Totally busy in B.com course + CA articleship + CA study.

College Events

College fest, Cricket tournaments etc were there. However, did not got time to attend any due to busy schedule of mine. Articleship + CA course made me tight & didn't enjoyed much in all these. However, these days I remember all funs which I missed at that time.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was feasible as it was Delhi University fee structure which is very affordable. Any one can afford the same. Student never talk about the hike etc. Even the Delhi bus transport passes has been issued to college student free of cost. At that time Madan Lal Khurana was a CM

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware off any loan or scholarship facility; however, all students got free delhi transport pass.

Campus Life

Totally cool college with lots of facilities available. Robotics was not at that time. Now, it must be there I suppose. I know about cricket team of our college as some of my friends got admission through sports quota. There is no difference between any gender etc.

Hostel Facilities

No hostel facility available as far as I know. however, If it had been, it would have been great. Food was great, I tried many times with my college friends. Some friends were regularly eating there due to lower cost with good quality. They also sometime get packed.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, I do have my college friends linked to me. Yes they are helpful. All are set now with good nob or business.

Exam Structure

Great....Once in a year for 3 year B.com (H) course. If you are not satisfied with your marks or wanted to repeat that in next year...you can do that due to great facility available in delhi university. I did that for one exam & I got good score in IInd year.

Admission

My 12th Marks should meet the cut off list criteria of the college. I got that in first list. All papers needs to be submitted with originals for checking. Fees to be deposited for entire year. Overall very easy process & all admin staffs were supportive.

Faculty

Great. I got Best Taxation Professor who was a relative of Mr. Singhania who write taxation books. She helped me in understanding the basics of Indirect taxation due to which I scored well in my exams as well. I also got opportunity to take migration in Shaheed Bhagat Singh college but due the best faculty, I didn't opt that.

Shyam lal college not on my wishlist

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

The curriculum is very interesting & it teaches you a lot about the entrepreneurship. Specially in the field of commerce it gives you the right information and exposure to the real world. Subjects like Corporate law , business law , Cost accounting and etc teaches you a lot about practicality.

Underrated College- An honest opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

All about SRCC life, exposure, placements, faculty and my experience

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Dyal Singh College: The Good, The Bad and The Confusing

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Honest review of SLC

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...

My view regarding my college

Remarks:

Academically you can choose it but if you are looking for some fancy institution with some best infrastructure and fancy canteen I won't suggest you this college. But this college has one of the very best cricket team and one of our student named Mayank dagar is leading Indian National under-19 team. So I think you understand the impact.

Consequences after getting admitted in DU

I gave the CUET exams to get my college. CUET exam is basically an entrance test for bachelors degree which eligibles you to all the central universities of India. You have to appear for four domain subjects that you have studied in your class 11th and 12th. You can apply for any course irrespective of it's connection with the subjects that you jave studied earlier. Based on your cuet score you will be eligible for different courses. The cutoff is really high for Delhi University starting from 600 for more most of the courses starting from the lower reputed colleges. You do get reservation benefits. The application form are generally out in the month of April. The exam has nothing to do with your class 12th percentage until you have passed the class. The only demerit I find is the late admission process. By the time you get the results of the exam, other top colleges' admission are done by then....Read More
