Likes
- I really like the campus architecture and the classes that we have, the courses are very much relevant as per the selected stream.
- The faculty is really good, they are lenient and the attendance is not really an issue most of the times. They are highly qualified and make learning a fun experience.
- The fests conducted in DTU are truly the most fun aspect of the college, they are grand and a lot of companies invest in these fests. famous people are often invited in these fests.
Dislikes
- The preparatory leave between midsems are quite few and many a times, the exams get over within a week, which is quite hectic.
Course Curriculum Overview
I would say that my course curriculum is pretty much apt for the stream that I have, and would say that it is the same for other branches as well. Abiding by the new education policy, the course has been changed drastically and has been modernised as per the student's imterests, promoting a targeted approach since the very beginning.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are available mostly in third year, this internship season has been quite good, where tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, Goldmann Sachs came to provide internships to people. There are many other scholarships in the college that can be promoted to internships later. The stipend would be quite reasonable as well.
Placement Experience
The placements are quite good from our college, an average student in Information Technology or Computer Science would be bagging a 25LPA package easily, which is a lot for a beginner. The brand name of DTU is enough to amplify your resume and the companies coming for placement opportunities are also a lot in this college.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is quite reasonable as compared to the private colleges and other colleges as well, since it is a degree in technology, it is bound to be expensive, but I'd still say that it is still relatively cheaper than its other counterparts. There are many scholarships available in our college for various income categories and even some for the minority categories such as OBC/SC/ST, you can find these easily on their site as well.
Campus Life
The infrastructure is great, there are a lot of clubs providing for an array of skill set, the people in these clubs are really friendly. There are also tech teams that go for competitions which can be quite troublesome to juggle with studies but if you are up for it, then you're all welcome. Social circle is also an integral aspect of the college life and I assure you that one would definitely find many like minded people like themselves in the college.
Admission
Application process is through JEE of course, you have to score really good, in about 97-98 percentile to get the really good branches in the college, the counselling is conducted by JAC Delhi, and personally speaking, the process is really smooth, you just have to physically verify documents which can be a challenge for people coming from across the state or country, but other than that, it is quite manageable. The final sliding rounds can be chaotic though as there are large number of people wanting the prime seats but only some are able to grab them.
Faculty
The teachers are very fun to interact with, they are always up for help, many of them are doing their personal research, which you can be a part of for further research and developmental programmes. They're quite friendly and would help you in all ways that you can possibly hope for.
