A good technical college in a remote location

It will be better if the management can treat students like grown-ups. Engineering students are not kids anymore.

Gandhi Institute Of Engineering & Technical had a good placement record back then. The infrastructure is really good. Cool place and sufficient facility have attracted me to this College. For the rank, I secured this was one amongst the best option for me.

Biju Patnaik University and Technology have a course curriculum which is one amongst the toughest around India. There is the scope of improvement but still, it's a good one for industry oriented B.Tech courses. College was providing all the possible course options.

I don't think my college provides internship facility. The m.tech facility is there in few branches with 15-20k stipend.

Placement was the prime factor why I and I are sure others are choosing to join this college over others. Multinational Companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Mindtree are coming for placement. Overall good placement assistance was provided by the college.

Advaita- This is the college annual function. Gandhi Institute Of Engineering and Technology celebrates this very lavishly. It's the Grand Event. E-Fiesta- Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering celebrate their annual technical meet every year.

Gandhi Institute Of Engineering and Technology is the bit expensive as compared to other colleges. Course fee was around 70K per year back then in 2012. Additionally 30-40K of Hostel Charge. Again additional charges like Pre-placement training and other fees as well.

No, I don't think any scholarships/loan facility was there. Apart from the government-sponsored scholarship and bank loan.

Campus life was really good. The male population is way more than the female population. It will be around 70:30 boy: girl. Students from different parts of India Studies here. Labs, Fields, Swimming Pool, Robotics Club, and other curricular and extracurricular activities had a scope.

The hostel is good here. The hostels which are inside the campus are better than the ones which are outside. Mess food was the worst. Quality of food is poor. The proportion of Veg Nonveg was good but they should try to increase the quality of the food provided to students.

There is no Alumni Network, to be honest. College does organize some alumni program every year but I don't feel it's solving its real purpose.

Semester wise exam system works in the Biju Patnaik University of Technology. 8 semesters in 4 years. 2 per year. Every semester again comes with 3 internals. Exams were conducted properly in Gandhi Institute Of Engineering and Technology. Exam structure was good.

In the central counseling process, I have locked my seat for ECE GIET Gunupur. This can be confirmed against a demand draft of amount close to 10K. Then I visited the college physically and completed the admission process. The whole process took close to 15 days.

I will rate good for faculties here. Few were really extraordinary. And obviously few were freshers. But college was having good faculties as compared to others during that period. At least they were able to complete the syllabus on time. Overall good.
