Library - Library was Great with huge collection of books and journals
Faculty - Highly qualified faculties to support.
Laboratories - High end and modern well equipped labs.

Dislikes

Campus size - whole college is in a 4 story building.
Canteen - very small canteen. However, later it was being expanded.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was decided by university and is followed thoroughly throughout the Session. The curriculum is not as per today's Real world problems. However other materials provided at college like journals take care of that. Semesters are conducted on timely basis. Course kali Kullu improved a little bit.

Internships Opportunities

The opportunities were availed in a company's like West Bengal electricity limited and other local government agencies. However I didn't opted for any of them and went for Bhel. Regular training are provided in semester breaks too enhance your practical skills.

Placement Experience

Placement starts generally at the end of sixth semester and an average of 70% students gets placed in good firms. Most of the IT giants will visit and conduct campus placement drives. A highest of 24 lpa package is a recorded and an average of 6 lpa is received by a students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee of the college is quite affordable and is 85000/year. However it is not enclosed your hostel charges and Transportation. Financial aids like education loan and a scholarships are available.

Campus Life

There are multiple techs and cultural fish happening around the year. It is organised combined by students with the financial support of college. Various art and tech clubs are driven by different student groups. Campus includes cricket ground, football ground and basketball court as well.

Admission

I took admission through West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam. The admission was done solely on basis of my rank in entrance. No additional interviews are anything was done. More detail can be found on West Bengal joint entrance exam portal.

Faculty

4.5

Facilities were highly qualified and knowledgeable. Facility to a student ratio was 1/10. It was really important to get a 1 to 1 guidance on technical things and we got that from our faculties. We had a regular interaction with our faculties On daily basis.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
