Remarks

Overall this college is a good place to be in and pursue graduate education. The college management is also pretty supportive. Students have to find their passion here and work towards it to achieve success.

Entrance Preview

PESSAT Score All India Rank 876 This college comes under the list of the most reputed engineering colleges in Bangalore, which produces graduates ready to be placed in MNCs all over the country. This made me choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course provided by the college is up to date with the latest technological advancements. Teachers are very helpful in clearing doubts of the students. There are numerous platforms where a student can explore his interests and bring out his talent. Research options are vast. Students can come up with ideas for projects and work on the same or can be of help to any faculty assisting their work. The number of opportunities are endless.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are provided to the students during the summer. Many companies also offer pre placement offers to the 3rd year students. One can also avail this opportunity by contacting the HR of the company and sending in their resume for a more transparent process. Companies like Adobe, Qualcomm, Yahoo recruit students for internship. The stipend offered on an average was Rs.10000 per month.

Placement Experience

4

PES is known for it's placements among other colleges in the city. Many companies offer lucrative packages ensuring a bright future for the students. More than 90% of the students are placed in this college. Some of the companies are Adobe, Robert Bosch, Mu Sigma, Deloitte, Yahoo etc. The average package offered to CS students was 12 lakhs per annum. The highest package was 24 lakhs per annum.

College Events

3.5

The annual techno cultural fest is called Atmatrisha. It has a variety of events and food stalls for the students to relish. This is a very big event in the college and students from other colleges come in big numbers to witness this event. There is also a dj night in store with every year having a different one. Students are free to participate in the events and win prizes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is different for people who join the college through CET and PESSAT. The fees through CET is 1lakh/yr, whereas the PESSAT seat costs around 3.2 lakhs/yr. The PESSAT fee structure is on the higher side and people should think twice before enrolling for a program here, as I personally feel 3.2 lakhs is not worth it. The management quota fees varies from 4 to 6 lakhs per year depending on your choice of branch.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship is given to highly meritorious students in the college. Students are given 15% tuition fee waiver if they are within the top 20% of their branch subject to above 8.5 SGPA. Also students with SGPA above 8 and 9 are given 500 and 1000 rupees respectively every semester. Top 5 students are given additional 5000 rupees in every branch having above 9 cgpa.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is great. There is a mix of students from different states all over the country. Gender ratio is around 60 men to every 40 women. No student is discriminated on the basis of race, caste, culture etc. Everyone is treated equally. Also there is absolutely no ragging in the college. No politics in the college. The culture is a little sophisticated.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are pretty decent. There is an option for single or shared accommodation. But rules are a bit stringent here. Girls have to reach the hostel before 6pm and boys 9pm. And the price is a little bit on the higher side of 1+ lakh per year. The warden is very rude to the students sometimes. PG accommodation can be easily found near the college as many students choose this over hostel. The average rental for a pg is around 6000 rupees per month.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are the best in any college. They provide us with as much information as they can in guiding us through our rocky journey of engineering life. They help us with reference material, notebooks, and tell us how to go about pursuing higher studies and initiating future actions. I've had a senior who has been really helpful to me. He told me what are the do/donts that needs to be followed to enjoy a peaceful ride.

Exam Structure

There are two internals and 1 external exam. The internals is for 40 marks each, which were reduced to 15. Assignment comprises of 10 marks. The final exam, which is for 100 marks, is reduced to 60. First two years, the internals are computer based tests, which tests the conceptual knowledge of the students. Labs are 1 credit each, and every semester comprises of 3 laboratory subjects. Since everything is properly organized into a time table, the day goes pretty smoothly.

Admission

A notification about the PESSAT exam is given to the students. Students register their names on the website and book their slots for writing the entrance test on a particular date. Based on the performance on the test, AIR is generated. Admission is achieved by undergoing a counselling session, producing the required documents such as Migration certificate, 12th marks card, transfer certificate etc. The administration was very helpful in supporting with the process.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of the college is a very experienced set. All the teachers are highly educated with most of them having PhDs in their domain. The teachers are very kind and cooperative with the students. They never hesitate in teaching the same topic twice.
