Review of BSc. Clinical Psychology at Yenepoya University, Mangalore

Since the scope of psychology is very high at the moment, our curriculum changes almost every year, it tries to include all aspects that are required for a bachelor's level, and sometimes extra information is given by the faculty. 1st year includes the basics of psychology, and then slowly moves to assessments, learning of abnormal psychology, child psychology, and therapeutic techniques

Internships are mostly given at rehabs and old age homes, anywhere the university has MOI with. Sometimes for learning, students can visit the psychiatric ward of the medical college of yenepoya which is extremely helpful. Stipends are not available as it is just bachelor course.

The fee for the course for the earlier batch was affordable but as the scope is increasing the fee structure changes. Scholarships are given based on merit and should be applied prior to itself, reduction of half of the fee in every alternative semester. For my batch fee was 60000 per year (2 semesters, per sem 30000) but it has increased for the recent batch.

Campus life is fun, there are programs every now and then. Campus can vary according to the course he/she chooses. Interactive learning through technological provisions, a wide array of books available in the library. Culturals is conducted for a whole week in the month of June-July. Freshers Day is also there. There is a new psychology club inaugurated in yenepoya that helps all students.

We were new hostel that had incredible facilities, room sharing can depend on rooms, 10 people can have a 3bhk apartment, 4 people 1bhk, and rooms are spacious. Food comparatively to other hostels is better and clean. Medical services are available and free for students. Hostels can be expensive ( 75000 per year). If wanting to live outside, 2bhk apartments are for 15000 and can vary depending on the building. Registration at the hostel is simple and easy

Admission process is simple, provide 10th grade and 12th grade mark sheet, There are no eligibility criteria as such The application fee is not required Admission requests are found on the website of yenepoya and for a simpler process there are many agencies that help free of charge.

HOD is very much qualified and has enough experience both in teaching and the field of psychology. Other assistant professors have Masters degrees and have experience in therapeutic settings which is easier for us to learn through examples and what to expect in the field of psychology.
