Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose this course because i wanted to pursue drugs and phracmacy and the curriculum of the DU in the chem hons course is pretty good and covers and lot of aspects and topics. The curriculum is pretty great and it includes a number if labs which prepares u for working in the future in the same fields and the theoretical part of the curriculum is pretty decent too. Areas of improvement would be the betterment of faculty and addition of more labs and initiatives for internships and real world experience. The exams are held at an interval of 6 months twice a year.

Internships Opportunities

1.5

The college does provide a lot of internship opportunities to be honest. The college has a placement cell which helps the students in securing internships and jobs and does a pretty good job with it. There was an internship drive organsied by the same society where a number small startups came. Some students secured internship and jobs too. The overall experience in internships is not very good in my opinion.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the session i have been in the college there has been no hike in the tution fees. Talking about my course i pay 16000. During the you have to pay the exams fee and if ur subjects require lab work like mine. You will be requored to pay a little extra. I donot use and hostel or tution but the avg cost of a flat in satya niketan ranges somewhere aroung 6 to 7k and that if the pg is around 10k ( including food). Students from weak financial background are given relaxation in the fees by the college and also provided with books and materials if the students is too financiay poor. For the scholarships the students can avail the government scholarships but the college does not provide anything of its own. For the employment part i have not undertaken any drive or internship as of yet but there have been drives arranged for placement by the placement cell of the college.

Campus Life

3.5

My overall experience with my college has been pretty good. The college has a number of socities , some of them are more on the ngo core type work. One of which is a society called arambh. The annual festival of the college is TIDE which is considered one of the best in the whole DU. The college has a library which provides books of every type for free to students the college also has an E library where students can access the internet and learn online. The classrooms have fan facilty but doesnot have ac. AC facility is provided ik the college auditoriams. Students are also taught using projectors when necesasary. Labs are also provided for the subjects required.

Admission

I got my admission through the CUET process. I scored 280/600 in my exam. The cutoff for the course is around that only. I got admission in the third round of allotment. The cuet adpplicatopn form can be found on their offcial website then you can make an id on csas portak to get admission in DU. Reservations are provided on the basis of caste and financial back ground. One can even avail his or her sports quota or army quota too. The exam inside the DU are pretty moderate and the cuet exam are easy. One can easily score decent marks with decent knowledge. The admiission process can be improved by reducing the number of steps and making the csas portal a little faster and better.

Faculty

2.5

The faculty to students ratio is pretty decent. There is one teacher over around every 60 students. Which is pretty nice for a college. This doesnot create a void of not having enough teachers and missing studies. All the faculty is well educated. Most of them hold a phd degree in their respective fields. Their approch is pretty orthodoxic towards teaching which donot create a very fun environment for learing stuff and students often feel burnt out and burdnened. Interaction wity teachers is not so good . A lot of teachers are a little egoistic and most of the time u do not get enough time to talk to them. Some teachers and very approachable but talking for a whole they are not.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
