What Students Say
Likes
- I like the availability of variety of societies in our college and the determination of the societies towards their goals. They provide opportunities for overall development of a student while excelling in a particular area.
- The infrastructure of the college is totally great! It has two buildings ~ old & new, spacious and airy classrooms, a canteen, a large auditorium, an amphitheater, playgrounds, conference hall, a library fully AC, various computer, science labs etc
- Teaching methodology is great as it is understandable, practical as well as inclusive. We have interactive classes. We learn through class teaching, assignments, presentations, doubt solving, tests, practical exams etc so that we are well prepared.
Dislikes
- I wish there was availability of more optional subjects in AEC ( Ability Enhancement Course) and VAC ( Value Addition Courses).
Course Curriculum Overview
The wise inclusion of necessary in depth subjects in the course curriculum makes it comprehensive and useful for the students in the long run. The course curriculum is very relevant except for some extra subjects which include language or don't have many options to choose from. Course curriculum coupled with the workshops, speaker sessions, internships and practical application make the students industry ready. I think the teaching methodologies could be more practical orientated so that students are not only knowledgeable but also have hands on experience while in the college itself. The exams are conducted twice a year as there are two semesters in a year. Exams are not very difficult provided you study well in advance and perform well in the exam too.
Internships Opportunities
Internship domains include Finance, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, HR, Treasury and Analytics, Marketing, Sales etc. Companies such as EY, Deloitte, Merilytics, Ken Research, Tradeshala, KPMG, HSBC, various edtech companies as well as startups offer these internships. The stipend may range from 5000 to 50000 depending upon the company, role offered, responsibilities and performance.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for sitting in Campus placements after completion of Sem 4 exams & can join after graduating. Average package: 7.4 LPA (approx) Highest package: 21 LPA (approx) as per Placement Cell data. Companies such as Deloitte, Wipro, EY, KPMG, Crowe, Morgan Stanley, De shaw & Co, Walmart, PWC, Accenture, Mother Dairy etc took place in the most recent placement drive of our college. If no campus placement is offered, one can go for off campus placements and approach people and companies through LinkedIn. They may also go for Higher Education such as MCom, MBA or any professional courses such as CA, CPA, CFA, FRM etc. I feel Placement Cell of Ramjas College puts its best foot forward in order to bring the best companies on campus, assisting students throughout the process, and smooth onboarding in companies. The efforts of each and every member of the cell are commendable.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees per annum may range upto a maximum of 20,000 including the exam fees of two semesters. Students may apply for various scholarships on DU portal as well as college website. Apart from this, Reliance Scholarship, Raman Kant Munjal Foundation Scholarship etc are also available. No separate fees for accessing library or computer labs. The fees may differ for different categories. The above mentioned one is for General Category. It's even lower for Categories such as SC, ST, OBC NCL etc. The complete course of BCom can be done with a fees of 60,000 (3 years) or 80,000 (in case students go for 4th year too).
Campus Life
The campus life has been totally amazing from attending classes to working in various societies, attending workshops, events and fests. There are various annual and technical fests organised in our College, which include: Di Valore: a finance-focused festival with various competitions and prizes. Mosaic: took place in May2024. Diwali Mela : Typically held in November before Diwali. We have large classrooms with all the modern facilities and ventilation .The third floor in our college is where most of the classes of Commerce Department are conducted. We also have computer labs for practical application of various concepts and subjects. The Library is equipped with all the necessary books and has good arrangement for sitting and studying. The societies are mainly run by students which include Placement Cell, Ramjas Consulting Society, TEDxRamjas, The E Cell, Commerce Society etc and these are actually very helpful in students' career development.
Admission
I applied to many colleges during the admission process by making a preference list. Apart from Ramjas College, I had included SRCC, Hindu, Hansraj, LSR, KMC, Venky, Gargi, DCAC, ARSD and various other colleges of DU. I got Ramjas College in the first cut off which I had kept above KMC, Venky, Gargi and other colleges of South and Off Campus. Getting into a college of higher preference ie Ramjas, means that I had cracked cut offs of all the colleges below it as well. But since I had kept Ramjas College above others, I got alloted the same. Reasons why I gave Ramjas College a higher preference and chose it over many others colleges: It's a very renowned college of North Campus. It with BCom was the most demanded college of CUET 2022 as per NTA data. It is one of the oldest colleges with great faculties and infrastructure. It is famous for its Placements as well as Alumnis, and many other reasons. To get into Ramjas, one has to give CUET and score at least 750 marks (Gen category)
Faculty
The teachers are very knowledgeable and experienced. They are very qualified and have also written their own books about the subjects they teach. Teaching methodology is great as it is understandable, practical as well as inclusive. We have interactive classes. We learn through class teaching, assignments, presentations, doubt solving, tests, practical exams etc so that we are well prepared for the final exams. The faculty student relationship is really good. There is a two way communication in classes which makes them more interactive and our doubts are immediately solved during the lectures. The professors also help students by providing their specific career related advices and their own life experiences rather than just teaching the subjects. The semester exams are of moderate difficulty level. Pass percentage is quite satisfying. Most of the students pass the exams with good CGPA.
