- the campus conducts lot of educational and cultural events for students to engage and to create a understanding between them, it has lot of student clubs and also you can start your own student club if you have the eligibility.
- From my experience most of the faculty are great and ready to help with your studies and personal development.
Dislikes
- the curriculum is not upto the date ,learning and teaching methods have to be improved ,and lot of practical learning was lacking.
- Placement drive was not worth it for the money, Really a waste of time and money. Most of the students with less percentage could not get placed even if they have a good cgpa.
- The university library has to be updated with latest books
Course Curriculum Overview
the course curriculum was able to cover most of the fundamentals of computer science and engineering in all domains equally. However, it did not explain the industrial usage and aspects of it. Most of the course books did not refer to the study some books felt irrelevant to the topic. The exams are held systematically, so we have enough time to prepare. Most of the subjects were intermediate-level difficulty, I felt maths papers were tough personally.
Fees and Financial Aid
I paid fees of two lakhs thirty thousand for a B.tech degree in computer science, to be frank, it was quite less and it was because of the coronavirus pandemic, as i heard this year fee is three lakhs for students opting for CSE.Lets see the fee structure of my course i paid during 2020 , the tuition fee was 2lakhs ,Book fee-15000,Career development fee-20000, Registration fee to secure the seat was 10000.Every year we need to pay a fee of 300 or 200 for lab maintenance charges and also i didn't write the entrance exam SRMJEE.I also have a less percentage in my 12th board exams, So people with very good grades might get a concession in fee amount.
Campus Life
One of the largest events held at SRM is TEXUS. A variety of technical and non-technical events are organized, and students collect funds from a variety of organizations as well as receive sponsorship. Event planning and organizing is done by the students. SRM contains well-equipped labs and facilities.
Admission
The first reason to choose SRM is because it's very near to my home, just takes 10 minutes to reach. The fees were also lower compared to other colleges I visited like Sathyabama univeersity, Sairam University. Most of my friends joined SRM .The admission process was very simple ,i payed 10,000 rupees to secure the seat. Then I had a career counselling to select the course i wanted.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio at SRM is 1:24, The faculty at SRM are very approachable and ready to help students with almost support in the curriculum. But some are not as supportive as others. The course must be updated and focus on theory rather than practical learning.
