Remarks

It was a prestige to study here because all the rank holders at hsc used to opt this college as the first choice. The college has a superb campus which is probably difficult to build in todays times.

Entrance Preview

Maharashtra board Hsc was the criteria. I score 74percent. Opted because of this was the best option available. The college was established by deccan education society which in turn was founded by bal gangadhar tilak. It is a college of repute.

Internships Opportunities

P&O ned lloyd for rs 5000 per month. This was through my own efforts and the college did not have a say. I also did sales and marking internship with ICICI securities which gave be a handsome 12000 per month.

Placement Experience

2

Average. The college did not have a formal placement cell. If companies came to recruit someone, the notice board put such notice however there was no formal assistance provided.

College Events

3

Prarambh was at the beginning of the session. There were also mock stock exchange and fashion show organised. The college had various sport teams as well who were coached to participate at events of other college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very feasible. Rs. 5000 per year. The education for girls was free. Also there was reservation for scheduled caste and tribes whose fee was also waived.

Fees and Financial Aid

For underprivelidge students there was a programme which was supported by local industrial groups but i dont know much about it.

Campus Life

4.5

There was a fair gender ratio. About 60 pc males. There no hostel parties and the rector of the hostel was totally disinterested in managing the hostels. Otherwise because there were many cultural activites going on in college which made it happenning

Hostel Facilities

1.5

There was a small hostel which could accomodate roughly 700 students. There rooms are pathetic and there was no mess for students. The rooms were painted once in 20 years according to me.

Alumni/Alumna

None. There was never an opportuniy to interact with the alumini of the college. Thee rwas no formal forum even for the ones who passes out of the college.

Exam Structure

Once a year conducted by the university of pune. The days were not very hectic. The attendance system was weak however since most students were studious, they themselves came up to attend classes.

Faculty

4.5

No. 1 faculty, course content by reputed Pune university. The professors were well qualified and were genuinely interested in teaching. It wasnt like they were there to make money

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
