Course Curriculum Overview
At first, I applied for Zoology honours but my marks were insufficient to get a chance in that department. Afterwards, I got a chance in Botany honours. After my first class my POV changed for the subject and I felt it was quite interesting subject
Fees and Financial Aid
I will have to pay nearly about 6000 every semester and my other batchmates pay very little amount i.e nearly about 1000 as they have scholarship scheme. sometimes its too hard for my family to afford the amount then we have to pay the college fee which is also near about 300-400
Campus Life
Every year there are many annual festivals and cultural programmes are held in the college campus like Saraswati Puja, Sharod Utsav, Book Fairs etc etc. The behaviour of the Librarian of GC college towards students are very rough..and not many books are available in it.
Admission
I have applied to only two colleges. Gurucharan college and Karimganj College. I got selected in both the colleges in First List. As my sibling works in Silchar so my family preferred me to choose Gurucharan college over the other college that I applied for. Cut-offs of the colleges these days are a bit high. so I would suggest all other students to attain atleast above 65-70% to secure a seat in the college
Faculty
The teachers of the botany department are very cooperative and We can ask any of our questions at any time. Our Head of the department i.e. Ashim Das Astapati sir is very approachable person. as well as rest of the teachers too.
