Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is related to the course. I am currently pursuing Civil Engineering. The course is more about practical knowledge along with theorotical knowledge. The faculty tries to balance both the areas. The IA is held at an interval of 6 weeks. Usually the IA is of 20 markd and duration of the exam is of 1 hour. Daily exam of 1 subject is conducted
Internships Opportunities
The college also provides internship opportunities. Many companies like Reliance Jio, Tech Mahindra provides internship opportunities. The stipend vary depending on the work and kind of project alloted to the student.
Placement Experience
The placements are quite well. The Average package is 5 LPA. The highest package is around 9-10 LPA. Companies like Tech Mahindra, Reliance Jio, Tata Consultancy Services, Capegemini, etc offers campus placements. "One Student, One Offer Letter" is followed here so that each student gets only one offer letter and other students can also get opportunites. I am going to pursue M.Tech. after my graduation for more opportunities
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for Open Category for second year is Rs.100591, for OBC it is Rs.57640, For SC/ST it is Rs. Rs.3091. In this the examination fees is Rs.2414, Disaster Relief is Rs.10, Gymkhana fees is Rs.400, E-Suvidha Fees is Rs.50. Also scholarships are provided for OBC, SC, ST, VJ, DT, NT, SBC category students.
Campus Life
"Technitude" is a technical festival held every year around September-October organised by Entrepreneurship Cell (ECELL) of DMCE. While "Milestone" is another event conducted every year where annual gathering, sports events, etc. takes place. Various festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri,etc are celebrated in the college. Every branch also has branch specific committees too. The Central Library of DMCE is big enough and has over 45,000 books.
Admission
I applied for 8 colleges for Civil Engineering. I was sure that I want to do Civil Engineering so I applied for that branch only. My first option was VJTI but didn't got that. DMCE was my second option and I got the college in CAP Round 1 itself. I chose this college because this college is known as one of the best college for Civil Engineering in Mumbai. Also, its easy for me to travel to college as I live in Thane. Thane to Airoli takes around 20-25 minutes depending on the trains.
Faculty
The faculty-student relationship is good. The faculty helps students in every possible way. There are two Internal Assessments (IA) conducted in every semester and average of both the the IAs is taken into consideration. The syllabus of the IA is as per the syllabus given by the university. IA 1 covers some syllabus of semester exam and IA 2 covers the remaining one. The teaching by the faculty is best so many students clear the exams in the first go.
