Likes
- The sports facilities here are great like basketball, volleyball, etc.
- Lecture complex of this institute is the biggest in Asia knowned as VLTC.
- There are good labs here which can provide anyone with enough resources for their advances research work in any field.
Dislikes
- There are leopards in the campus sometimes.
- The campus does not have a proper canteen which gives good food , there are no 3rd party stores as well like dominoes etc which many colleges tend to have.
- The night life at this institute is bad because of no place to eat late at night and the danger of leopards.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had interest in fluid mechanics so I choose chemical engineering which comprises a lot of fluid mechanics subjects. The curriculum does not really prepare you for the real world but it does help you in becoming good at a certain job. I think the teachers can be a bit more leninant towards attendance criteria so that peeps can self study more. Exams happen 4 times in a span of 12 months and difficulty level is easy to moderate.
Internships Opportunities
I am applicable for application for any internship programs yet so can not talk much about that but as I have heard on campus interships are pretty hard to get but you can apply off campus and if you are skilled enough you will surely get your desired intern and maybe PPO as well if you work well there.
Placement Experience
There are on campus placements happening at my college with average package around 13.2lakhs and median around 11lpa and highest 64lpa. The package for cse is very good like other colleges but for lower branches the condition seems otherwise. Overall 81.5% UG students got placed. Companies like de shaw, Deloitte, Microsoft, Mercedes ,Airtel ,Amazon ,bel, bhel ,etc have visited the campus for placements. Number of placements offers this year was 900 among 850 UG Students. Mostly there were non core placements for core branches . I am personally to make my profile fit for non core jobs as I have chemical branch and make it into tech or finance sector. But on the back of the mind I plans for higher studies like mba abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees is 62500 for each semester. Institute fee which comprises of library , laboratory, sports and other college facilities is 18450 per semester. 1st semester you have to pay 16600 as one time admission fees. Sc/St and students with family income <1Lakh get full remission on tuition fees. While students with family income <5 lakh get 2/3rd of tuition fees remission. There aare certain scholarships available for students but I don't know much about them yet. Tuition fees does not increase yearly neither does the admission and institute fees.
Campus Life
The campus life is not very great but it is average better than many other colleges of the same level. But the night life here is pretty bad. We have our annual fest named blitsz which is a cultural fest held in February -march and our annual tech fest named sphinx held in october-november. The library here is pretty good with a wide range of books but the timings for library are very short (it closes at 8pm). Classroms are well equipped with projectors and acs for best teaching and learning experience possible. Sports facilities are pretty good overall and also there are many clubs for extracurricular activites which you are participate in depending upon your interest. Students run variouss clubs here like dance, music , etc there is also a ngo run by students. Also various tech clubs like finance , coding , cyber security etc are also there. These clubs not only help students pursue their passion for their hobbies but also sometimes strengthen their profile for jobs.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities depends widely on the hostel you were provided. Talking about my hostel I have been alloted a triple seater which is very spacious and equipped with proper charging ports and lan. The bathrooms are also cleaned on a regular interval. Mess menu is good but the quality of food is bad. My hostel was alloted to me by my the colleged itself. I live in aravali hostel of mnit jaipur .
Admission
I applied to various IITs and Nits I also got admission in biotech course of MNNIT Allahabad but I later realised I have no interest in studying biotech so I went with chemical at MNIT Jaipur as I was not getting chemical at MNNIT Allahabad because of my high rank in jee mains. My main goal was to get admission into an top 7 IIT but I failed to get a good enough rank for that because I loosed some slack in my studies during the end of my preparation and also the competition this rose to new heights. For Admission to my college you have to give jee mains and they take admission on the basis of students ranks in jee mains. The cutoff for cse at MNIT Jaipur is pretty high but for other branches its not that tough to get into if you are focused even 60% towards your studies.
Faculty
Faculty to students ratio Is pretty good like 1:25. Some of the faculties are pretty friendly with the students while others are not. I liked My chemical department professor Dr. Dipaloy Dutta as he is very lenient towards a number of things like attendance and if you are a little bit late to the class he allows it and understands you problems and issues for the same. I have not liked my engineering design teacher Dr. Surbhi das as she is very strict and also her teaching style is not what I am very fond of. There are 4 exams which are easy if one has studied properly. Also there are quizes happening in between. Approximately 10 out of 850 fail to clear the exams. The course curriculum in the first year is not very much relevant to my branch but from second year the curriculum is just focused on that particular branch
Other Applied Colleges
IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology - [IITB] | Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Chemical Engineering)
I got this during counselling , so not really my choice just went for the best combination of college and branch according to my rank, Actually I wanted an IIT seat but it is what it is now...
