Course Curriculum Overview

5

The specific aspects of the course that influenced me to take up the course are that the course is a core engineering course, has influences from both CSE and EE, and is very well versed with real world examples. Though the curriculum has real world applications but still it lacks real world dealings as the syllabus contains only theoritical knowledge and no practical experience. The areas I would like to highlight for improvements is that to bring about mre and more real world applications and change the syllabus in such a way so that it benefits the students to take meaningful decisions afterwards in the corporate world. The exams are of semester pattern which is the best system which doesn't put much academic load on a student

Placement Experience

4

In my college, they provide about 90% placement. The student becomes eligible for placements after 6th semester or at the start of 7th semester. The companies that visited the campus during my time were Cognizant, Edifixio, Johnson Controls, etc o name a few. The highest package offered was 5 LPA and the average package offered was 3.30 LPA. Approximately about 80% students got placed in that year and I had plans to sit for the government exams after my B.Tech.

Fees and Financial Aid

the fee structure for the entire B.E./B.Tech. degree was 320000. It was approximately divided equally into 8 semesters. I didn't get or avail any scholarship. The fees for the complete course was a little higher seeing the hostel fees, transport fees and others.Year on year the course fee is increasing throughtout India and my college is not an exception.

Campus Life

3.5

The names of the annual technical festival of my college is techstorm and elixir. They are held in the month of March and April every year. The aceessibility to books and journals are limited to students. There are no sports or events held in the college as the campus has ver limited space.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel was very basic compared to other colleges and facilities were very limited. They did not provide andy meal. During the admission process one has to register for hostel. My home is nearby and within the reach so didn't react a PG.

Admission

I chose this college above other colleges because this college in my city is well known for its academic excellence and is well established over other colleges. The other colleges that I have applied to were Narula Institute of Technology and Kalyani Government Engineering College. All these college have same kind of excellence and levelled field of students. In case of Kalyani Government Engineering College, they took SC/ST student more thatn General candidates and being a General candidate I could not make it upto the merit list. The admission process to our college is after getting a seat in my college through centralised counselling of WBJEE, we need to go to the city offfice of BPPIMT situated in Park Street and after admission formalities go to the cllege campus for other formalities. The cutoff for WBJEE is around 25000 rank.

Faculty

5

The faculty members and technicians were friendly and top-notch with most of the faculties being PHds and M.Phils. I would like to mention a few names like Surajit Sir and Arijit Sir who were both Phds and specialists in their respective domains. They were considered the best faculties in the entire ECE department. There were no faculties on my dislike list. The course contains 8 semesters and intermediate exams and assignments which were moderate to difficult. Due to our faculty and the good track record of our college very few handfuls of students failed the exams. The course being relevant helped us in a lot of ways to pass the examinations.

Interview Experience

4.5

No GD or interview or written test except wbjee. The other ccriteria for admission that any individual for admission should be a citizen of India, mustb have given any of the valid entrance exam and have appeared in the online or offline counselling of wbjee or other exam.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
