Course Curriculum Overview

4

B.com course though has a negative word around but when you do from a good college like RA Podar, the level is clearly different. Being an autonomous college, it had its own curriculum well versed with practical applications were relevant.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Stipends are not always fixed. Although you can take an average of 5000 per month. The internships offered are from Younity and other student friendly companies. You can also get off campus internships and the college helps you to build on it as well.

Placement Experience

4

Mostly after the 4th semester students are eligible for internships and are employable. Some of the renowned companies and firms are TCS, KPMG, BDO,PwC. The average package is around 4-5 lakhs p.a. on completion of graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year there is fluctuation in the fee structure depending on merit list and other quota systems. It is always displayed on the college site. Also the fees are different for various courses provided. You can also avail female student discount and travel concessions as the college provides each year. For Junior college (11th and 12th) yearly fees was around 10000. Also the three years of B.com which was aided costed around 7500-10000 annually.

Campus Life

4

There are many fests held in the college. Some of the famous fests of college are Moneta, Mathematrix and Rapport. There are many forums and committees run by students themselves and also the college students are active in almost all sports available by the University.

Admission

I had applied for top commerce colleges in Mumbai. But RA Podar is in the league of top 2-3 colleges. I chose this college because honestly I didn't have much idea about other colleges and most of my friends were going to same college. The admission process was very smooth as I got admission through merit list and there were no issues.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are easily approachable and we can clear our doubts or problems even after college hours. The best faculties from my perspective are Vrushali ma'am, Mahesh sir, Vinita ma'am and Smita ma'am. There are no faculties I didn't like on a personal note. The exams is something where the college is strict. The exams are on the difficult side but very much relevant as per the syllabus.

Placement Experience:

At TCSC placements are quite good as anyone. Even the SOBO colleges and Mithibai don't have placements as good as us. So this is why I always dreamt of studying here because since last 6-7 years, Thakur College placements have gone better and higher.

Remarks:

The good thing is that the college was not strict and was never forcing us to study rather it was seeing to it that it gave us proper advice and help us reach more towards my career goal. The bad part would be there were may staff which was very dull and was not kind, and no importance was given to correct their behaviour although it was evident by all.
