Likes
- The college has one karate club which is not actually registered under the college but it is a part of it.
- The ratio of girls to boys is 1:3. This is mainly because mainly the locals take admission in this colllege as this is a private one.
- The college provides opportunities for students to have healthy minds with the study curriculum as it provides one football ground, one basketball court,one three volleyball courts and a cricket field.
Dislikes
- The things i disliked was the food provided at the hostel mess which is awful and does not taste right unless the menu keeps changing each week.
- Inspite of having such a big campus for some reason the campus feels cramped and feels as if the buildings are going to fall over you and you will get crushed.
- The opportunities for the learning of new skills is highly underappreciated as the currriculum is mainly focused on the scores and the students are busy clearing their back papers.
Course Curriculum Overview
I took on this specific course in this college as this course can widely keep me open to private as well as government jobs. This course also takes me tot he most interesting point which is closer to the electrical circuits and different types and the detailed study of it. The exams conducted are semester wise and in each semester there are four internal assesments for helping the students to easily pass the exams.
Placement Experience
The placements offered in this college is an averge of four lakhs fifty thousand . This package is always grabbed by many students and many students get offers from two to three companies for joining. Even for a core branch like electrical the highest package was eleven lakhs per annum. Even the department has about 100% students placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college has a very high fee structure with an annual amount for the electrical engineering department of rupees two lakh and ten thousand per year(approx).The scholarships and credit cards provided depends on the state you belong to and your caste. You can also apply for educational loan from your banks which are at lower rate of interests. The amount for the hostel faciliies is even according to the cost of living of the city.It also helps one to have an easy going life with the value of the money.
Campus Life
The campus life here is great but the college being in the outer part of the city the night life cannot be enjoyed by students who are living in hostel or mess. The sudents can although make themselves involved in the different activities like karate , football, music club, basketball , etc. They can also attend the gym which is in the college campus accessiblt to the students. Also some of the departmental clubs organise events which helps show the diverse nature of the college of how even in different departments everyone unites.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility provided is three boys hostel with two of them beinng operational and two hostel for girls. Also the separatedBoys hostel are Chittranjan which is only for the first year students with their own volleyball ground. Also the second hostel is of the Satyen Bose Boys hostel which has students of 2nd,3rd and 4th years. These hostel conducts many programs together it also has a common room in each hostel for the indooor entertainmet of the students.
Admission
This college was my choice first reason was because of the distance of it from my house and this helps me in emergency situations to get home immediatey. Also my brother also studied from this college and i had also always thought of coming to this college .
Faculty
The college faculty meebers are well natured and welll educated but some them are not able to impart their knowledge to others . This is mainly caused due to the language barrier which some teachers cannot overcome and they out of their force of habit to speak bengali are not able to make the students understand what they teach. This includes very few of them as there will be always exceptions wherever you go. There are also teachers who teach in such a way that no revision is required after going home for further understanding taht topic.The exams conducted can passed if one student some hard work from their side otherwise they are doomed to fail the exam.
