Remarks

Good thing about our college is its emphasis on education. The faculty are really good and I am sure about one thing that if a student wants to become something here she/he will definitely become if that thing belongs to academic stuff. The bad thing is t

Entrance Preview

It was Odisha Jee entrance exam. I scored pretty well. By the way my parents didn't want me to go to a distant college and College Of Enginnering Bhubaneswar was a safe alternative. And I always had this knack for Electronics stuff since my 10th standard and I thought it would be pretty cool to study it as a 4 year course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I will give 7.5 out of 10 if I were being asked to give a rating. The faculty are young, good. But the problem is some of them are inexperienced as they are just passed out students and dont know how to handle students. Course curriculum is pretty hectic. Sometime you get plenty of time and some times you don't.

Internships Opportunities

There was no provision for internship. The sad part is the college never encouraged us to do so. It was too late for me to hear the word internship for the very first time.

Placement Experience

2

Placement and job opportunities are okayish type. At our time only Infosys came as an on campus. And Cummins hired several mechanical students. ADP also hired 3 students from our college. In this college students have to rely on external job search things like AMCAT, eLitmus, off campuses. Definitely not so many core companies come for recruitment. Maximum package offered was 4.5 lacs/ anum by ADP.

College Events

2

The anual college fest is named as Xuburent. It is not that cool. No big things ever happened in our college save for blood donation camps, several science fests, tech fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was 50k per annum. It is actually cheap as compared to other colleges. Fee may have hiked now. Well student loans are available. Its actually okay.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are not sponsored by our college but there are govt sponsored scholarships around. I tried to avail on of them and I failed as there were brighter students than me.

Campus Life

3

Campus life is good, ragging free and absolutely tolerant to every one. There is a robotics club in our college and it's good. Gender ratio is more biased toward boys. But in IT and computer science departments there were even numbers of boys and girls. Economic status is cool as students are financed by their parents. politics is zero. The majority of the students belong to Odia Hindu families, rest belongs Bihar and West Bengal.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Mess food, hostel facilities are okay. In Bhubaneswar students especially engineering students have trouble in finding a good PG, rental room as they are too hesitant to pay off the bills at the right time and dont keep the things clean. Girls can opt for

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were pretty good and supportive. I can remember the days I spent with them for solving couple of problems in math, asking them books to buy and of course asking them for interview tips.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is common among BPUT affiliated colleges. And our college was no exception. Exams and labs were pretty cool if you are attentive to details. Of course lab work is only for those who takes interest in it.

The placement opportunities at KIIT are quite good, especially for us the CSE students. The eligibility criteria for campus placements starts from 7th semester. Many well-known companies visit the university every year like TATA Consultancy Services , Infosys, Wipro, Accenture and Capgemini. The average package offered is around 6-8 lakhs and highest package offered around per yr avg is 50-60 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placements is around 90% plus in average per yr. After completing my degree, i plan to work in software industry and gain more experience in the field of technology

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
