My college experience

Ahmedabad University stands apart from other universities in the sense that it believes in multidisciplinary learning and the wholesome development of the student.

One full year is divided into two semesters. Each semester has a mid-semester exam and an end semester exam, giving the student a chance of improvement in his /her grades. Along with the core subjects the student has the opportunity to opt for any course which may or may not be of his school. (Ahmedabad university has different schools such as School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, School of Arts and Sciences, School of Commerce aka Amrut Most School of Management).

The placement of Ahmedabad University is very likely. The graduates of engineering have got into companies like Amazon, Arvind Ltd., Amara Raja, Nirma, Maxxis Rubber, Shipments, Dynamic Elements, RT Camp, etc with an average Salary of 2.4 lakhs per annum. The commerce graduates get placement in Reliance, Adani, L&T, Vodafone, Tata Consultancy, Reliance, Adani, L&T, Vodafone, Nestle, and many other companies visit for recruitment. The graduates of Integrated Masters in Life Sciences get an internship in Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Sun Pharma. The students have the chance to pursue research field, teaching line or go into pharma companies. The Career development center (CDC)of Ahmedabad University helps students to get internships and placements.

Many cultural fests such as Anand mela, Sangam, Youthfest happen across the year. Anand Mela is a platform through which our university tries to help the underprivileged children by giving them monitory support and various tangibles. Youthfest is a manifesto of talents and ideas which young minds of the university possess. Apart from these, there are talk shows by well-known people from various fields who come and share their perspective and their field of interest. Also, many activities and events are conducted by various clubs (such as the literary club, drama club, dance club, quiz club, environmental club, entrepreneur club, food club, and art club)

Free Structure of Integrated Masters in Life Sciences. While admitting into the university fee for the first semester is Rs 1,70,000 which includes tuition fees and charges of the amenities provided by the university. The fees for the rest of the semesters is Rs70,000

No, I haven't opted for any scholarship. But yes Ahmedabad university provides scholarship based on need and merit (minimum of 2.0 CGPA)

Campus life is indelible. The gender ratio is more or less the same throughout the different courses provided by the university. Yes, their extracurricular activities such as intercollege and intracollege sport, literary management based competitions held. There are MD labs (multidisciplinary labs)which are open 24/7 for the ease of students to sit and study as much as they want to The central library of the university hosts different kinds of books, research journals of different fields.

The senior students are approachable and they guide us about what and how to grab career opportunities.

In Ahmedabad University, the student gets admissions based on his/her merit marks as well as the Statement of purpose (SOP)which he/she needs to write on their own. Marks or grades, unlike other universities, is not only the sole parameter on which the student gets admission but it is one of the parameters through which he/she may get. This is because a student's value shouldn't be judged by a piece of paper having his/her academic performance but also by his practical ability, communication skills, proficiency and the eagerness to learn and grow.

The faculties have a pool of knowledge which is centered as well as diversified. All the faculties teaching in this university are double, triple degree holders and come from various field of education. Most of them have done their graduation, post graduation, a doctoral degree from abroad, from world-renowned universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, University of Chicago, Standford University and many more.
