Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of the programme is nice including all the necessary subjects and extra developmental courses such as French language classes . I explored the history of English language and its development. I had the opportunity to develop a project based on independent duty. It also includes the skill of critical explanation. One thing that lacks in this programme during my time was that it did not had teaching subsi papers due to which I faced problem during my admission in B.Ed course . The exams are taken as per the semesters. There will be mid term for 20 marks and end term for 80 marks per semester and there will be total 6 semesters in 3 years . The difficulty level of the exam is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

2

Many internship programs are also given in the campus for the students, for example, content writing for recognised organisations , report writing etc but all those were unpaid and did not provide any stipend in my course . Other than that other courses such as BBA , MBA , BCA etc got good internship with stipends.

Placement Experience

4

From Semester four students are eligible for placements . Many reputed companies such as vipro,TCS, Tech Mahindra , Accenture visited . I got the offer of tcs abut I refused because of my higher studies . The highest package offered is 9 to 10,00,00 per annum, and the average package offered is 3 to 4,00,00 per annum around 50% students get placements .

Fees and Financial Aid

When I graduated the fees was 75000 all total but now in the current year it has been increased to 160000 all total including Application fees = 1000, Registration fee = 10000, Caution money = 5000 one time during the time of admission and then you will have to pay 24,300 per semester including Development fees = 2000, Exam fee = 1000, Tution fee = 20,900, ICT = 400. There is no reservation for any caste . Scholarship is available through E-Kalyan programme .

Campus Life

4.5

Holi and Saraswati Puja are celebrated every year in college and many other fest, like food, fest, et cetera, or organised in the college. There is a wide range of books and journals available in the library. The library is very good big and well maintained with all the appropriate books required for every course. Classrooms are well maintained hygienic along with smart boards and fans and big windows with all the facilities. sport programs are also held in the college. Also, exhibitions and food fest, etc are being held. There are many clubs of the colleges. For example, I was in literary club, there was art and fine club and there was a technical club and like this, there were many clubs in which students are free to take part. There is also an NSS group and various curricular activities are being held on the basis of all the clubs . I was the head of literary group which built my confidence contributing to my overall development of personality.

Admission

I applied to at Xavier a college Ranchi but the result got published much later after I took admission in Sbu . Other than this I also applied to Dr. Shyma Prasad Mukherjee University from where I got the joining letter but I didn't liked the college's environment. I took admission in Sbu due to its highly qualified faculty and best infrastructure. The admission process is very simple . First you will have to fill the application fee and there is no entrance . You will be notified about admission and you can proceed online or if you are not comfortable in online mode you acan visit the college and get admission directly through offline mode. Fee is accepted through Debit cards and for cash you will have to take challan from College bank . I would recommend to go through Debit card for more convenience. The eligibility for taking admission in B.A English is simply you should be passed with minimum 50% in your intermediate exam.

Faculty

4

The faculty and student ratio is not that good . Mostly teachers keeps on changing due to unavailability of teachers but apart from this the some of the teachers are highly qualified and phd holders. The relationship between student and faculty is frank . You can put up your opinions and suggestions to them and they would be considerate . They are co-operative in nature and tries to take classes child centric . Dr. Swatilekha Mahto is one of my favourite faculty member due to her co-operative nature and encourageable behaviour . Other faculties such as Dr. Radha Madhab Jha and Dr. Sandeep Maheshwari are excellent in their nature .

Course Curriculum Overview:

Initially, I chose English Honours because I thought it would be a very easy subject. However, once I took admission and started studying it, I realized how deep and theoretical it is. When I read about the poets, their life stories, and the era they lived in, I became deeply fascinated. My interest in the subject kept growing, and that is why I chose this field."My English and vocabulary have also become much stronger after taking English Honours. I am truly grateful for this."The existing teaching methodology was effective and satisfactory; therefore, no modifications were necessary."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum can be related a fairly relevant and mandatory comprehensive. While it covers the fundamental concepts required for the subject there is still scope for including more practical, skill oriented and industry focused content. Updating the curriculum regularly with current trends and real world applications would make it even more effective and beneficial for student

I has a vision to study English from the very beginning. I wanted to study English since i was good at English and also the most important thing was me being an isce student upto class 12 which inculcated a strong English base in me English as a subject is very vast. As the world is heading towards modernisation English has become a very important thing. Gossner college has good English professors and also i heard a lot from most of my seniors that gossner college has best English faculty. The frequency of exam is 2 exams per semester where the portion tought in the syllabus is asked and it's not very easy and not very tough too

This course lets me gain knowledge about the English literature, different writings and also improves my writing skills. Exams are taken once in a semester.
