About SRM

I have just completed my first year. As one might know in the curri lculum for the first year of any stream of engineering is the same. We read science mostly. From the 2nd year onwards we concentrate on our core subjects. The curriculum is fine as a whole. Students should put lot of efforts in order to master a module. The frequency of the exams are fine and the difficulty level is fine as well.

Placements are good in SRM. Many companies come for placements and they select the students depending on their need and based on one's calibre. Students should work hard, attend as many hackathons and internships as possible and maintain their portfolios. I want to get placed as well and I guess I am working towards it by doing the aforementioned.

I am paying 450000 rupees each year for btech CSE core. There is 10000 rupees set for admission fee initially, which will not be refunded once paid but they will be paid the tution fee back once they opt out of the college during the initial days of first year. There are many scholarships but I didn't get one. There are founder scholarship, employee ward scholarship and many. There is even a scholarship for the wards ex service people of the military.

SRM college is famous for its culturals and various other extra curricular activities. A vast library is present for studies and stuff. One might know what MILAN is, cause it is the biggest cultural event in south India which takes place in SRM KTR. Students who excell in sports can choose SRM. They enjoy many facilities like they are provided scholarships and get access to good maintained courts or wherever the sports is to take place. Some Olympians are alumni of SRM. Many clubs are present from studies to social services.

I had also applied for VIT but I didn't get the course of my interest. So I had to opt out. But in SRM I scored well in the entrance examination and got the course of my interest which made me join in SRM. The admission for engineering in SRM is done through online examinations. Lesser the rank one gets the more he/she has the chance to get the course of their choice. The rank of this examinations is only considered. One must have passed in 12th and take up the online entrance exam for engineering of SRM in order to get a seat in SRM.

The faculty student relationship is nice. They create a friendly environment which make the students to approach them easily. The curriculum is relevant to the course. For my 1st year I had to write a total of eleven subjects for end term theory examinations. Apart from these there were few fully internal course as well. The difficulty of these exams are set at medium.
