- Campus life is good with friends around. Too big campus to hang out and weather is also good. Moderate temperature through the year.
- Social events organized by students in many ocassions
- Sports competetion like marathon, annual sports event is organized by college
Dislikes
- Hostel Rooms are not that much good. Shady and often snakes can be discovered in summer season
- Mess food is the worst part however there is veg and non veg both but the quality is not upto the mark. Mess food costs 80rs/day only for 2 time meal.
- Less maintenance of the campus and hostels.
Course Curriculum Overview
Can apply for masters degree in different curriculums like in food tech, soil and water, aquaculture,farm machinery and power,GIS etc. Faculties mostly inspires you to get good scores in GATE More practical classes than theoritical would be better and better lab Every year two semesters and on difficulty evel I would rate it 9 out of 10
Fees and Financial Aid
12500 if not opted for hostels or otherwise 13100 and fees remains same through the course. Caution fees of 2500 has to be submitted during hostel accomodation. Except than EWS students fees of all category students are same One can avail University Merit Scholarship of 175rs/moth(1050 rs/semester) or toppers can get 225rs/month. Also a benefit of reduction of tution fees can be availed by EWS students.
Campus Life
Social Fest of 3 days(FEB), Viswakarma Puja Fest, Freshers(Dec/FEB) All course related books are available in the Central Library and also other books and magazines are available. Digital Classrooms with smart board wifi connection and projectors. A gym is there but not well maintained and sports competetions are organized by University. There are some clubs like drama club, quiz club, debate club etc.
Admission
i applied to CUTN and Vidyasagar college and got admission in both colleges. In CUTN i got admission in Integrated Msc in Life Sciences and in Vidyasagar College I got admission in BSc. Biochemistry. But I chose UBKV because it's a better degree and better option for me. You have to pass WBJEE and the WBJEE rank you can get admission in UBKV in B.Tech Agricultural Engineering.
Faculty
Faculty to student ratio is 1:4. Some of the faculty members are very friendly and approachable however the others are not that much friendly but they will help with academic problems. Faculties from Soil and water are the best according to me. Also Faculty of Farm machinery and power works hard to improve students knowledge. Some faculty members do not teach that much,does not take classes properly but gives question like they had discussed the topics in very depth. In each semester 2 exams are there- one is midsem another end sem. mid sem consisting of 30 marks and end sem of 50 marks and practical with viva and assignments 20 marks. Its very tough to maintain CGPA above 8.5 as absolute marks are added from both mid sem and end sem.
