Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is very relevant, in IFR, we learn about all the things that are relevant and useful for our careers and in our other subjects as well, in additional and general English and in debate and argumentation class as well we are taking up topics which are sensitive and controversial and are on going to help better understand these topics, both sides of those topics.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Goldman sachs came recently to our college and the package was 15k a month for two months. About 10-15 people were selected overall, five from my class, I did not apply this time as I want to take more time and apply next year instead.

Placement Experience

3

Placements of my college are decent, we have companies like Goldman sachs coming in however the rate of success is quite low, only about 10-15 people get through, the package is 6-8 lacs and the highest package is 18 lacs, my plans after my degree are to work for a year or two and then take over my dad's company

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee per year is 155000 including the fees for the books required for the CMA exam that I will be attempting, it has not risen from the first year and has been the same. My batchmates in B.Com regular are paying a fees of 73000.

Campus Life

4

We have many different fests such as Dhwani, Kalotsav and celebrate Onam in college as well and have business fests such as B Plan, Zenith and Citadel. We have a projector and the projector screen in our classrooms along with speakers in some classrooms, teachers get mics as well to teach. We have many sports activities such as football, cricket, carrom, a gym, table tennis, volleyball, etc. and we have many different clubs as well, I'm part of the erudition club and we host business fests like zenith, B Plan and Citadel, I am part of the sponsorship team and we focus on getting the sponsors for our fests which is quite helpful as it helps us learn to negotiate and even interest people in sponsoring so helps us learn how to market and advertise.

Admission

I applied to Jain and SJU, I got a confirmed admission in SJU and didn't attempt the admission process in Jain, I chose SJCC because of the crowd, sju is known to have a bad crowd. I didn't get a rejection from any college that I applied to, the admission process of my college is an entrance test, then a group discussion and finally a personal interview.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very friendly and very approachable while also maintaining professionalism. I like my class mentor Ms. Jeny as she is a really good teacher and is also quite friendly and i can easily approach her in case I have any doubts. I did not like Ms. Amitha as even in class she lets her own opinions get the better of her while not taking into consideration the opinions of the students at all which is essential in a general English class while discussing controversial topics which doesn't help us learn and in fact is just an attempt towards forcing us into accepting her opinions. We have 6 exams, they are medium difficulty, the teachers focus on ensuring that we actually learn the topics rather than just focus on us scoring well through difficult exams. Hardly 1% of the students in my class fail to clear the exams. The course curriculum is very relevant.

I would rat 8/10 as the course was pretty good, I learnt eaverything in my B.com, whether its abut marketing, finance, sales , accounts. So basically it included everything a student needs in their graduation. I suggest that there should have been regular classes with encourages student teacher interaction.

In our period it was prestigious to study commerce stream in our college and had good rating for the course and the for students who passed out from that college. The management had good lot of concern about the poorer section of the society and hence kept the fee structure at a very nominal level and thus help to get education for all
