Likes
- The faculty. The professors are really helpful and very experienced. They guide us in almost every aspect of things in college.
- International tour. College does provide an international cultural tour every year to the MBA batches. They don't charge anything extra everything is included in the fee.
- Placements. Placements start in the 2nd semester. And the college helps in providing 100% interships to students.
Dislikes
- Salary package. The salary offered by the companies coming to college is low as compared to our fees.
- Our campus doesn't have a hostel but other campuses of our college have hostels so students staying in hostels have to travel from other campuses to attend classes.
- Not enough holidays are given, there's only 12-15days break after the exams only.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good and the college aslo provides practical experiences with industry visits every 2-3months and various case study competitions are also held in the college. The faculties also provide us real world implications and workshops to help us get relevant with the corporate industries.
Internships Opportunities
The companies that offer internships are Aditya Birla Group, GOPIZZA, Keyence, and other companies as well. The average stipend is around 15000 per month. The students can start interning once they enter the 3rd semester with no active backlogs.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible to sit in campus placements from 2nd semester. The companies that come are Pwc, E&Y and other big fours as well. A lot of startups also come during placements and around 120-130 offers are made. The highest package offered is 14lpa and lowest is 3lpa. Almost 70% of students get placed every year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for MBA 2023-2025 batch was 4,50,000 per year for 2years i.e 9,00,000 for the degree. This year (2024) it has increased to 10,00,000. For students coming from Karnataka local state, if they crack the PGCET exam they'll have to pay fees of 3,50,000 only for 2years.
Campus Life
Fests are held 2-3 times every year. And various club events are also held every month. The library doesn't lack anything which it comes to books. A lot of books are available of every subject or topic a student is looking for. Sports are other extra co curricular activities are also held. The classrooms are equipped with technology advancements and AC is also there.
Admission
I applied to 6-7 other colleges including PIBM pune, Christ University etc. But I chose DSU over other colleges because of the faculty guidance we get here. I didn't get rejected from the other colleges but my first preference was DSU because they are very renowned for their way of teaching. The students can get into the college either by giving DSAT exam which the college provides or by other all india entrance exams. And they also need to go for an interview during the admission process.
Faculty
The faculty members are very industry experienced and have an experience of more than 20+ years in the corporate world. They are very much approachable and guide the students without any extent. Most of the faculties are either CA or retired officers and Industry professionals. There are 2 exams every semester, one is mid term exam of 50 marks which gets converted to 20 and other is final semester exam of 100 marks which gets converted to 40 so total 60. The rest 40 marks are based on assignments, class participation and CBT.
Interview Experience
Yes, there was an interview during the admission process. I also gave MAT and CAT, through which i got selected then i had to appear for the interview. The interview was of 10-15mins and not so much hard questions are asked during interview.
