Remarks

Little biased towards bengalis, this is what I felt. Can do better in this regard.

Entrance Preview

ISI B.Stats Examination - Rank 11 I head that students of this college have nice prospects after completing their degree.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Mainly statistics courses, all types of statistical inference courses, nice flavor of mathematical electives such as complex analysis, measure theory, real analysis, topology etc.

Internships Opportunities

If this is regarding the monthly stipend that is given to students in the college, the answer is 5,000 INR p.m. This college does help its students in getting internships, many company visits for internships.

Placement Experience

4

Excellent, almost all students get well placed, The main aim of this college is to get students motivated for Ph.D and nearly 50% of the students go for that.

College Events

2

Less events, one major events held in January every year named Integration. Few cultural events are also scheduled but there is lack of interest for such events among the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

No fees, the students gets stipend for study here. Stipend varies, for the graduate level, it is 5,000 INR, for post graduates it is 7,000INR and for JRFs it varies in between 17-25k INR.

Fees and Financial Aid

Similar to question 8, No fees, the students gets stipend for study here and no fees is charged. Stipend varies, for the graduate level, it is 5,000 INR, for post graduates it is 7,000 INR and for JRFs it varies in between 17-25k INR.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good, there could have been more facilities such as swimming pools, billiard table, the college has ample amount of space and can utilize them, for providing better facilities for students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Good, nice and cheap food, clean mess and hostels, low maintenance costs were charged. Electricity, water problems were sorted out quickly.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helping from day 1, no ragging or any abuse done to the juniors, very safe place, seniors help their juniors in getting placed, learning things, very co-operative.

Exam Structure

Written Examination, very tough examinations conducted, if an students fails in one exam, he/ she is given an option to re-write the exam, if he/ she fails in that too, then the student is forced to leave the course.

Faculty

4.5

Very good, knowledgeable, Many of the professors are alumnus of this college who return to India after their Ph.D from abroad. Almost all professors are well known for their knowledge and the papers that they have published.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
