Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is not much effective as it should be when coming to placements and learning new things. Teachers don't care you get som knowledge in your lab but they just want your assignment and practical fine done in proper time limit. some subjects like communicatoin skills are good which boost your confiedence and remove your fear for communicating to many people. It can be effective by adding main subjects in 1st semester like coding language for CSE students also teachers must takes example of the topic that affects in real world application. Frequency should be like Two exams per 6 months in which 1st exam should not be hectic and also some quick quizzes .

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Internships are good like many students got their placemnet from JP Morgan, American express etc. Median stipend from CSE department is around 40k and Highest was more than 1.2Lakh. Majorly people goes in Software development or Anlysis.

Placement Experience

4

For campus placement students can involve in 7th semester also many students got their PPOs in 6th semester as well. There are many reputed companies visited in PEC like Apple, Microsoft,Adobe,JP Morgan,Goldman Sachs,Amazon etc.Highest package this year was around 58LPA on-campus while average of all branch turns into around 14.33LPA.Overall more than 50 percent students got placed in all batch while around 80 percent placed in CSE due to recession. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or during my 4th year.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the course, fees is almost Rs190000/ anually that is 95k per semester while in 1st semester they took total Rs1,13,000 which is 18k more than usual semester fees beacause it includes Admission fees(5k) ,Other sudent service fee(5k) and security deposit(8k refundable). Meanwhile underscholarsip 1) Full free ship on tution fees shall be admissable to 2 students on the basis of Jee mains rank in 1st year and get continued in next years provided student CGPA>=9 2)Half free-ship on tution fee for Sc/St students 3)For pwd candidates having anually income less than 5lakh get full free-ship on tution fee 4)Full free-ship in tution as well as hostel fees for students belonging to BPL category 5)Half free-ship on tution fee shal be granted on the basis of anually family income to maximum 2 percent of students in a batch whose anually family income does not exceed 5 lakh

Campus Life

3.5

There are many clubs and societies in PEC like ACM , SAASC, NSS , NCC , EIC etc. PEC fest is one of the largest fest in the north india which takes place in the PEC Chandigarh in around November and students from different colleges and university came here. Many books are available as well as many types of newspaper and Novel ,Journals etc. Classrooms contain Air conditioner (Not every classroom ) , projector, greenboard as well as white borad. Sports like cricket ,volleyball , football , badminton are quite famous here. Also other sports like kabaddi , basketball , cycling , Table Tennis takes place. Clubs helps student to explore different things and learned from them and build their confidence.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels conditions are not too good to say. They provide 2 beds 1 Table and 2 Chair and 2 Cupboard 1 Almirah in 1st year as sharing room of 2 students and even one hostel is there which have only 1 chair allowed. Mess foods are okayish ,you will not feel what you see on internet. Fees of Hostel for one year is 80k plus monthly fees around 3.5k of mess. If you continue to share your room in 2nd year you would get some refund also by providing application. College is in Sector 12 chandigarh. PG near college are available as far as i know.

Admission

I gave Jee mains exam in which I got 99.13 percentile and since i was interested in computer science and engineering so with this percentile i was not getting CSE in any good NITs so i went for some research and found that PEC Chandigarh is one of the best GFTI and is comparable to many good NITs so i researched more about PEC and found it best like in placement, internship, strong alumni network

Faculty

2.5

Faculties are not such good in 1st year. They just come in class teaches you the thing written on their notes and that's it. Somee lab teacher even teach nothing but would surely give you assignment always. Some teachers are good like ourr maths tutorial class teacher is brilliant in maths and teaches us very clearly. His name i don't remember exactly but there is teacher in physics Tripti mam she just write the things written on her notes. There are exams like quiz then mid sem then end sem then continued to next semester. They are easy to moderate and their question comes almost from the book told by teachers.A very few student gets fail in their examination like 3-4 so they have to reapper examination Course curriculum is not relevant in such a way to provide you a better placement. You just have to make it yourself.

Interview Experience

3

Basically We have the JEE Mains exam through which we get admission in this college. This exam includes 3 subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and total marks is of 300. After getting certains marks we got ALL INDIA RANK and category rank if exist. Then we have to participate in the Counselling of JOSAA and fill the choice of college which have total 5 rounds. Like this year for general category the CSE of the Punjab Engineering College closed at almost 10.5k rank for general category of other state. Then we have CSAB counselling for the vacant seat left in JOSAA counselling. After showing your seat is confrimed according to your rank and choice filling in JOSAA/CSAB you have to pay Partial Admisson fee and then have to give the receipt to college . Then you have to reach college and give all the necessary doucuments required which is given by josaa and colleges as well.
