Course Curriculum Overview
My vision for future aligned with the course I chose As a commerce student, I wanted to keep my options open after my graduation and this course has helped me do so. The curriculum now includes additional courses aimed at honing our soft skills which would help us in real life. The exams are held frequently after a targeted set of syllabus has been covered. The difficulty ranges between easy to moderate only
Internships Opportunities
The internship opportunities are majorly provided through the internship fair organised by the placement cell of the college. It remains to be the best internship fair of the entire university attracting loads of companies and valuable job profiles. The name of the fair is Anubhava and companies ushc as Tata 1mg and Economics Times have graced the path.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of our college looks after the placement. Major companies that visit include the BIG 4 - Deloitte, KPMG, EY and PwC along with Tresvista and RSM. The average package stands at 5-6 lakh per year whereas the highest package stands at 12 lakh. 60-65% of students get placed every year with the no. increasing depending upon the quality of the batch. I plan to pursue an MBA after my degree
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure depends upon the course that one is pursuing. But it ranges between 25k - 35k for the most courses. It hasn't increased in my experience but there are chances of slight increase every year.
Campus Life
The Campus Life is pretty amazing. Various Cultural Festivals are conducted every year including Mecca, CrossRoads, Lashkara etc. There is a sports complex in our college along with gym facilities. There are various student run clubs including global organisations such as Enactus, 180 dc along with hobby societies such as Dance, Music, Gatka, Art and Craft etc.
Admission
I had applied to the Colleges of GGSIPU but I always had one thing clear in mind that I want to go to Delhi University. This goal made me confident enough to pull off the CUET exam and get admission to one of the best colleges of North Campus. I didn't get rejection from any other colleges of college. I got admission to the top ranked college of GGSIPU with AIR - 81 but left it for Delhi University because of its quality. One needs to attempt the CUET exam to be eligible for admission in SGTB Khalsa College.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio stands at 1-60. The faculty maintains a professional but helpful relationship with all the students. They guide at every step. The commerce department had pretty great faculties along with the English department. The exams are conducted annually in the form of University exams and internally taken up by the respective faculty.
