Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Well the chemical engineering is for thhose who can do chemistry reeally well. We are very well prepared as we have to do some kind of projects every 3 months if we want to. Only smart board and option to attend class online would improve the current class. Exams are always on, you are never that free. Exams are only difficult if you didn't study well. But questions would be moderately hard.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Very easy to get internships. Mainly jounior developer and different types of intership is offered. Research Internship is offered but they are unpaid. the internships range from 0 Rs per month to 15000 Rs per month. Usulaly lasts 2 to 3 months bbut some can last upto 6 months.

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semister students are eligible for campus placement. With average package bouncing from 11LPA to 9LPA and Highest Domestic Bounces from 27LPA to 22LPA More than 100 Companies visit each year. The placement bounces from 98% to 90% I will go the GATE and PSU route.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for Chemical Engineering at Jadavpur university is notably affordable due to governmet subsidies, makeing it one of the mosr cost-effective engineering programs in India. Yearly Breakdown of For Chemical Engineering Tution Fee: Rs 2,400 per year. Development Fees: Rs 50 per year. Sessonal Charges (Examination, Library): Rs 1000 per year. Causion Deposite (Refundable): Rs 100 (paid once during admission). Admission Fee: Rs 100 (One time payment). Overall the annual fee comes to around Rs 3000 to Rs 4000, depending on some additional minor changes. Hostel Fee(if applicable) Seat Rent: Rs 15 per month. Electricity Charges: Rs 10 per month. This makes the total hostel fees roughly 300 to 400 Rupees annually, making Jadavpur University Best for Tution as well as Accomodation. Hostel Rooms and Toilets are Decent and good for an average hostel. Scholarships And Financial Aid: There are Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships and National and State Governmnet Scholarchips.

Campus Life

4.5

MAny are held in september, december, january, february, U-turn is one of them. The library has almost all the books you would ever need but they do not provide the soft copies. Library is not open 24*7 this is one of the downsides. There are almost 50 student run social groups they can be inra or inter departmental or disciplinary. Campus is mostly NON AC

Admission

I couldn't maake it too IIT and this collage can be compared to the top NITs so I chose this and I didn't want to leave the state so one more reeason. I didn't try hard enough or it wasn't ment to be for me. Do wbjee and then have GMR less than 1700 but GMR less than 1300 is safer. Most student go to the gate Route. GMR 400 or less is generally considered good.

Faculty

4

About 50 students per facukty depending on section specific classes and for broad subject 1 faculty per 100 students. But in lab threre are 1 lab faculty per 20 students. Dr.Prapita Das ma'am and Dr.Ranjana Das ma'am is very liked here I dont like KKG and ASD as their classes feel lie they are showing you what they know and not trying to teach you. Depends on the class and subjects but easier than IIT papers but way way harder than norman college.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
