Honest Review of college

In today's World of AI and Data, Data Science plays a major role in fulfilling the requirements of current and future industry demand, our college were trying their best to meet the need of industries. Area of improvement in this course is that they mostly focus on theoretical concept, they were evolving to practical knowledge very slowly but there is a ray of hope that they will be more focused on practical knowledge rather than theoretical.

You can be eligible from 6th semester for placements. TCS, congnizant, wipro, Accenture, etc are visited in our college during placement drive. The highest package was 14LPA made by cognizant, the lowest package was around 2.8LPA and the average package was around 4.5LPA. Almost 75-80% students get placed every year but in 2023 due to recession in market the percentage decreased

Placement: In terms of Placement, they provide decent % of Placement i.e; 75-80% students get hired. In 2023 TCS hired most of the students and they become top hiring company from Techno International New Town. The package starts from 2.8 LPA and goes up to 12.5 LPA, making it ideal for beginners. The average package is decent which is around 4.5LPA. Getting selected for pool campus is difficult; they invite all college under techno group; around 1500 students participate; there is high competition. Infrastructure : Classrooms are quite good but the labs are moderate, as the computer labs need improvement since most of the computers are old versions. Wi-fi is available inside the college premises. The library is pretty decent and subject-specific books are available but the latest technology books are very rare. Faculty : Teachers are good and helpful but some of the teachers doesn't listen anything if you skip their classes. Most of the teachers are good, helpful and supportive.

Our college giving students to perform in coding competition named techastra. Basically techastra is a technical festival which held annually in feb-march You can get most of the journals and almost every course books from college library. College provides opportunities to every students to participate in sports, they offered athletics, indoor and outdoor sports in the month of feb-march every year.

I applied for Haldia Institute of technology but due to low rank i didn't get selected in Haldia. You can take admission in this college either by wbjee or jee rank, the cutoff for last round of CSE branch is around 26k while the other departments like specialization branches cutoff may go upto 50k.

Faculty : Most of the faculty members are highly qualified, some of them are freshers. My favourite faculty is Sayan Chakraborty, he was our mentor but unfortunately he left the college due to some personal reasons. He was the best teacher of our college, he listens everyone's problem and try to help us as much as he can. Basically our college follows MAKAUT syllabus and takes internal exams by following MAKAUT guidelines, they take internal in the form of 4 CA, 2 PCA, before end semester exam. In CA1 you will have to give presentation, in CA2 you will have to give report writing, in CA3 they take written exams and in CA4 MAKAUT takes online exam in the form of MCQ on their portal, every CA is of 25 marks. In PCA mostly they give marks on the basis of lab attendance, lab performance and completion of assignments, some of the teachers takes viva for PCA marking.
