Life at BIT

The college is best for Computer science student. If one is an average student with decent CGPA, he's bound to grab a good job. Almost 100% students of Cse department gets placements ant that too in big companies. For other branches, the placement is not so good and you have to struggle a bit. But if you are hard working you are gonna get it anyways.

Entrance Exam

The course curriculum is excellent, particularly for computer science branch. For ECE branch the course structure is not very good as it is outdated and nothing new has been introduced for long. For BArch students, the curriculum is quite good.

Yes, most of the students get internships through the campus and some go for off campus internships. Computer Science students easily gets internships while for other branches on campus internships are very less. I did not get any internship.

Again the placements are above par for Computer Science students. Many IT/ Software companies visit our campus including some giants like Microsoft, Amazon, VMWARE, Samsung, Salesforce, Goldman Sachs, etc. Second best placements are for ECE branch. For other branches you really need to strive for it as core companies for other branches are very less.

Technical, cultural and sports fests are celebrated in our college every year. Pantheon is the technical fest, Bitotsav is the cultural fest and Vajra is the sports fest. All the events are very exciting .

Including everything it comes around 2.5 lacs per annum which is quite feasible if you look at the fee structure of other NITs and IITs. Apart from this merit scholarship is also provided for the students who belong to poor families.

Yes, the scholarship is provided to the meritorious students whose family income is less than 3 lacs per annum. It starts with 20% for GPA 8-8.5 , 50% for GPA 8.5-9 ,75% for GPA 9-9.5 and 100% for GPA 9.5 and above.

The labs are very well equipped with some of the latest instruments and computers. Coming to sports there is a newly built gym and football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, cricket grounds. They are very good and you get volleyball and badminton court in the hostels as well.

The hostel infrastructure is below average. The room size is very small and you get an iron bed and table which at all does not look good. The washrooms are not cleaned properly and there are not enough sports facilities.

The alumni network is very strong here in the college. The seniors are very helpful. Most of the companies that visit our campus are because of its great alumni. Most of the time you'd find an alumnus taking the interview for the recruitment.

The examination us divided into mid semester examination and end semester examination. Mid semester examination comprises of 25 marks and end semester is of 60 marks. 15 marks are for the quizzes and other assessments.

The admissions are done solely on the basis of rank in JEE mains. The counselling is done in the similar fashion as it is done for NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. The person has to report in person to the college once he/she is allotted the locked choice.

When it comes to Electronics and communication branch, to be true the faculty is not very friendly. At times they try to cut marks unnecessarily and seems to be very rude. For other branches, the faculty is quite chill.
