Entrance Preview

I took JEE and my rank was 13759. I wanted to study in mechanical engineering department in a good college and I knew that Asansol Engineering College is one of the best college for mechanicals in West Bengal. So I have chosen this course in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course structure is very good and the course is of four years and each year is of two semisters. So total eight semisters are there to complete the course and in final year the companies come to give jobs to the students including IT and core companies.

Internships Opportunities

Very much IT companies like TCS, WIPRO etc. came and gave stipend aprrox 5-10 thousand and some core companies of mechanicals came like godrej, Tech mahindra etc.

Placement Experience

2.5

Job placement in IT companies are pretty good now. So approx 80-90 % students of CS and IT department are placed. And some core companies will come after November. In previous year approx 50% students were placed in mechanical, civil and electrical department and IT companies gave 3.3-3.1 lakh per annum and core companies give 2.5-3.5 lakh per annum.

College Events

3

College festivals mean college fest. Some tech fest and cultural fests happens every year. In this quizzing, drawing, bike parts opening and assembling, cricket, football, counter strike, need for speed, playing cards, Mr.AEC, miss AEC, ramp show, dance, singing etc. Happens.beside this atgeletic games are also played.

Fees and Financial Aid

College does not give any loans. A scholarship is there for girls only. I don't know much about it.

Campus Life

3.5

There are gender ratios of approx 2.5/7.5. In mechanical engineering department only one girl . but in other department there are very much girls. Often student parties like fresher's party and farewell parities etc. happens. Workshop classes happens one or two times in every week as per routine in class but in need we can do more classes by asking the faculties. No diversity in gender or religion basis happens. Sports like race of 100, 200, 500 meter etc. happens and in extra curriculum activies robotics, debates happens. Soft skill classes happens in every semisters. The labs are also good.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There are three hostels in total. One for girls and other two is for 1st year boys and for 2nd, third and final year boys. Total 700-800 students can stay in hostels. Others have to stay in PG. Hostel rent is Rs.1200 and mess food rent is Rs. 1500 above p

Alumni/Alumna

Some senior students are very good and some are not so much. Some seniors help very much in time of study or other problems but some do not.

Faculty

3

If I say about faculties then I have to say that some faculties are good but some are not student friendly and they don't understand the student's problems at the time of placement because they just takes most of the IT companies. But all faculties are v

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
