Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The syllabus and curriculum meet the needs of the students of my course to an extent. The internship program, practice teaching came in 3rd semester. But in 1st and 2nd semester, the course is actually making the students to know about the theoretical concepts and aspects of the course. The thing which i really felt bad was that, they wanted to attend the class and do the internship. It was quite difficult for any student to do both af the same time. The practice teaching is something every student can do, but what i felt was that, instead of they assigning an evaluator, the students can choose theirs. So that they cane easily communicate and approach.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many which comes under the TPO. I don't know to point out every one. But the TPO general, he is such a down to earth person, and always helps the students in the best way he can. He is such an approachable and genuine person.

Placement Experience

4

There is Training and Placement office general under the university. The placement happens oftently. There is a student committee as well to conduct many placement related programs inside the university. The cell is actually providing lots of opportunities to each and every students out there. TPO also providing how to attend interviews, how to create linkedin profiles, and many more things which a student should know.

Fees and Financial Aid

The very first year i have paid an amount of 10955/- as admission fee. Then other than that we have paid 6000/- in hostel, it is of 4 months. In the second year, the amount paid was 7045/- and hostel fee is 1500/- per month. There are lots of scholarships provided by the University and many other social uplift movements as well. The university alumnis from various countries also providing several scholarships for the students.

Campus Life

4

The main annual program that happens in AMU is Sir Syed Day in October. Then there happens celebrations like Independence Day, republic day, Hall dinner for the students of Hostel Residents. Almost all department conduct International and national conferences, workshops, etc. There is projector and screen in every classroom. The university also provides free wifi for the students and faculties in the university. There is horse riding club, swimming club, film club, music club, etc which helps to enhance the co-curricular activities of the students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Begum Azeezun Nisa Hall, one if the hostels in AMU. I am a resident of this hall. The hostel provides a good facility. But there will be some problems for the atudents who came from another state or far away palces to adjust with the food menu. The hostel also provides the same free wifi for the students. As a distant state student, it is sometimes hard to cope up with the food. Even though their special food on special days and 3 days weekly is quite reassuring. The hall allotment happens after getting admission in the university. The alloted hall will mention in the admission card itself. But sometimes even there is rooms are vacant, they keep it for someone else they know. This is really gave a bad impression for me. They didn't consider that we were coming from faraway, and they made us do alot for just getting a room to stay. So I always tell students to come join the hostel if they are alloted for this hostel even though their classes are not started.

Admission

AMU was my first priority, and i got it in the first place itself. The very next priority was EFLU, Hyderabad. I could have joined there if i had attended the interview. But I didn't, because when i came to know more about AMU i felt it is a safe campus for girls and they provide a good learning atmosphere. When I came to give the exam, I really loved the place. The campus environment, the calmness, peace...these attracted me. AMU is one of the best and oldest universities, so I thought this has to my home for next 2 years, if possible after that also.

Faculty

4

The faculty members to some extent are really approachable. They are ready to help the students in any possible way. It is the students who should take the effort to make an approach. The professors are always welcoming and supportive to help the students out there. Not only academically, but also mentally. I am quite satisfied with my professors.

Placement Experience:

The placement here at Sharda was too good. Students start attending the Placement interviews and calls from the last semester. I was personally made into 4 companies and 4 offer letters were offered to me. The average package is 3.8 lakhs per annum and highest was about 11 lakhs. There is 100% placement in every dept. but it depends on students if they want to attend or not. After getting the degree i studied for my PhD entrace and now i am working.

In my college the teaching methods is quie good for me and in my perspective the frequency and difficulty levels of exam is not excessive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I wanted to become an English Professor, the course really helped me a lot in getting an insight into English Literature. The professors are very encouraging. The curriculum not only relies on the traditional method of teaching but also various co curricular activities are conducted to prepare the students for the real world. Each student is given an opportunity to prove herself. As the exams are conducted annually we get a lot of time to prepare accordingly.

Overall, I can say that my experience of the college for postgraduate degree is good as of now. Although the course is good, but, I would want more focus to be put on practical learning because after all, it is a practical subject. Other than that, I am content with the facilities provided by the college. I was very interested in the subject and love it personally, so it is a great experience for me.
