if you want to pay a reasonable fee with a decent placement record you can choose this college. However please don't come here if you really want to study/love engineering and securing placement is not your agenda. Caution Note: Please don't depend on college placement cell for a job, keep your knowledge updated
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is as per WBUT is now known as MAKAUT. It contains generic engineering subjects and some oudated technologies. However, nowadays they are trying to include modern technologies. Exams each semester. total of 8 semesters.
Placement Experience
Placement is below average in this college. Mainly Bpo, the sales job they offer to inflate the number of placed students. However big IT giants like TCS, ITC, IBM, etc visit every year and take around 100/150students. Core engineering companies like Simplex, LnT visit but placement scenario is bleak for them. The internship is provided for core engineering in Bsnl, railways. For IT only ITC offers internship. No stipend in provided.
College Events
Every year a technical fest Kritanj and a cultural fest are celebrated. Technical fest comprises coding competition, robotics, marketing, gaming zone. It fosters innovation among students. College from all over the state comes as the challenger.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible, and they don't charge exorbitantly like Bangalore private colleges. For us, it was 3.40lakhs for the whole course. Keeping the placement quality, faculty in mind is it a so so choice.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship opportunities are not present. Loan facilities can be easily arranged. They have to tie up with PNB which immediately processes your loan on securing a seat in the JIS group colleges. Many of my friends availed the same and they need to replay after 6months from passing out till the tenure
Campus Life
The sports facility is not much developed as it contains a very small ground to encourage sports. The however football tournament, cricket tournament as organized in the same every year. Labs are in good condition, however, they lack quality lab assistants.
Hostel Facilities
I didn't opt for a hostel. For girls, they have an on campus hostel. For guys, it is a few meters from the college. I have friends staying in the hostel. The food was so so and the canteen was cheap. Infrastructure wise it was shared room of 3 people and nonAC
Alumni/Alumna
They have a strong alumni network. They organize alumni meet every year free of cost to increase the bonding. However since it is a relatively new college set up in 2001, it needs some more time to have alumni in the top management level of MNC s.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is helpful and generous while handing out internal marks. However, I felt a knowledge gap among the faculties. They are moreover doing their duty than focusing on imparting in dept knowledge or focusing on innovative projects
