Good College

College was very good I am proud to be a BIT'an. I always felt the difference and the quality of education that was imparted was much better than the other institutes, which made us ahead of our peers. Infrastructure is Mesra is awesome however Kolkata center is comparatively small.

The course was very nicely structured. 3 years course was divided into 6 semesters. Each semester had a mid semester of 30 marks and the final semester of 70 marks. There were 5 courses and 2 practicals in each semester.

There were on campus held for TCS in our college when we studied. Except for that no other big companies came for BCA, however, for MCA there was centralized campusing on the Main campus. We did not have any internship options then so no questions of stipend.

Saraswati puja was celebrated in our college, it was very nicely celebrated inside our campus. We used to study in the kolkata extension center. Except for that, we had fresher's welcome party as well, which was celebrated grandly.

At the time when I studied in Birla Institute of Technology Mesra Kolkata center, each semester fee was feasible. The tuition fee was around 20-24 k per semester. Which came around 1.2 lack for the entire course.

I am not aware of any such facility. Since the course fee was not very expensive people did not bother to have a loan facility however those who wanted they availed for a personal study loan. College was helpful in completing those formalities.

Computer labs are awesome. It had more than 200 computers in the main lab. It was also extending to the next floor. Our library was also a very good lot of books were there. There was nothing for sports or other activities as it was an extension center.

There was no hostel facility in Kolkata center, everyone used to stay in a nearby hostel or pg accommodation. I also used to stay as a paying guest at a distance of around 4-5 km from college. Though the main campus has a very good accommodation facility.

BIT Mesra students you can find everywhere. Also during campussing, we felt that we were treated as different from the rest because of the BIT Mesra brand name and the quality of education there. Seniors and alumni are very helpful.

Very good, experienced teachers when we studied. Teachers were very knowledgeable and had proper teaching abilities. There were mostly permanent teachers. Very few temporary teachers so classes were regular and very disciplined.
