My college days

NISER IS one of the best premium institutes of India which provides you and good knowledge at almost no cost as they give scholarship every month. Apart from this niser is situated near the bhubhaneswar city and near the coastal area so the environment is always good. Niser have around 300 acres with shopping complex and all other facilities.

The course curriculum is very good and is comparable to the abroad research institute. Niser provides fundamental teaching for basic research. The exam structure is as follows, As Niser is an autonomous institute there are no restrictions on niser in terms of exams. There are basically 1 mid semester and 1 end semester exam which consist of 30% and 40% respectively and the rest 30% is given to internal assessment which includes short class tests, presentations, interaction in class, etc.

There is a placement cell in Niser. And most of the students go for a Ph.D. in abroad institutes, which include MIT, Stanford, many institutes in Europe and Germany. There is also a direct placement only available for Niser students in BARC Mumbai as a scientific officer. Niser students having cgpa greater than 7 are eligible for this job, they don't have to give a written exam, they only have to give the interview. Yes, Niser provides Internships for other students as well as for own students in summer. This internship is for around 1 and a half months in summer. Interested student can also do an internship in winter break for 1 month.

There are semester wise fee submissions at the time of semester registration. The fee structure is as follow, Fee for general and obc caste is 9800rs per semester ( which also includes hostel rent), the fee for st/sc is 2300rs per semester.

Niser provides scholarships to every student. There are mainly two scholarship DISHA(given by DAE) and INSPIRE(DST- department of science and technology) which is 5000rs per month for Int MSc and 30000rs per month for Ph.D. students.

Niser is a part of IISM( inter iiser sports meet) in which many students take part every year. Apart from this niser have football ground, basketball group, cricket ground, kabaddi and kho kho ground. Niser also has a fully functioning and newly equipped gym and yoga and music room.

There are very good facilities for the hostel. The hostel rent is already included in the fee, so there is no extra payment on the hostel. NISER IS newly built and all the infrastructure has all facilities like lift and cleanliness. There are separate canteens in all hostels and students can choose any canteen to eat.

Many of the alumni of niser are pursuing their further studies in abroad institute. They use to say niser give as fundament information about science and which is key to success in the research field. There are many extra subjects like coding and computational course which are very important in the later stages of life.

In Niser most of the faculty are very friendly and have a great and strong background in their respective fields. The faculty is always ready to help and are available almost all time in office hour as well in off hours.
