Likes
- The best part is anti ragging policy. The university tightens security in its premises, especially at vulnerable locations and Ragging is a criminal offense and the university will deal with any student found guilty of ragging severely.
Dislikes
- The university premises is clean but the washrooms are not that hygienic. Also sometimes there were water problem in the washrooms at every floor of building.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course includes both practical and theoretical knowledge of topics. Teaching methods could have been better if there were projectors available in more classrooms. Exams are conducted thrice a semester out of which two are class tests or internals and one is end semester final examination.
Internships Opportunities
Internships depends on courses. The courses like btech and bvoc has many internships offers. Although there are many student groups also in which they share internships opportunities irrespective of your course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for a BSc course at YMCA University in Faridabad, Haryana includes tuition, hostel, medical, and security deposit fees. The first year tuition fee for a BSc course ranges from INR 29,294 to INR 1.06 lakh and the hostel fee is INR 1.01 lakh per year. The meal plan is included in the hostel fees for girls. Also there is a one-time admission fee of INR 7,000. The security deposit is refundable after passing or leaving the course. University also offers scholarships to SC and BC students, including those pursuing a B.Sc. degree. There are types of scholarships like SC and BC Post Matric scholarship which is available to students whose parents' income is less than ?2.50 lakhs per year. It covers tuition fees and other allowances, but students must maintain a 75% attendance rate in each semester. Application forms are available online or offline, usually in November or December.
Campus Life
There are many club activities and seminars that happens every month for different courses and different clubs and societies. The technological provisions are good few classrooms had projector facility. There were also many WhatsApp groups that students can join for internship opportunities.
Admission
I applied for Delhi University but the course and college I was offered there were not that great. Also other colleges thar I applied for were very far from my location and they did not had hostel facility. Ymca was nearby and I got a good course here.
Faculty
Most of the faculty members are very supportive and encouraging. In every semester there are two class tests whose marks are included in internals. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:20. The internals and previous year papers helps alot in end semester examination with a balance between easy and moderate to difficult level of questions.
