MY CAMPUS:GNDU

I was in love with genes since 10th standardm the sole reason behind choosing this course. The methods of teaching and course curriculum need no improvement. The frequency of exams needs to be changed as students get too less time to prepare with Mid term in September-October, practicals in November, end semester in December.

GNDU offers industrial internships for students during undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Students can join companies in thier research areas and suggest improvements to processes, products, services. Students pursuing masters in Human Gentics must have about 50% in their graduation for internship .

GNDU has a placement cell that offers internships to 50% of students. Students of 2018-2019 batch were selected by Omics International, 2019-20 by IDSIL Infotech,2023-24 by IDS Infotech from dept of Human Genetics.

In may case(general category), I paid about 43915 for first semester which included 12,550 as tuition fee; 21,140 as funds; 4725 as university funds;2400 as exam fee; 900 as amenity fee along with 2200 as misc. fee. The students belonging to other categories are given fee concession . Along with this, in case if anyone else cannot afford, he/she can write a letter and once it is approved, they get some concession. Other scholarships from university are available after first semester if the student performs well.

The events organized in GNDU hyped all over social media platforms including Youth Fest, Jashan. Events are also organised by different departments on their own basis. All the books ranging from study materials, story books to reseach papers are available in the grand library available at the campus. The classes are equipped with smart boards and projectors.

I chose this university particularly from ample of other available as it was quite approachable from my place of residence. The admission procedure is not too hectic. We have to fill an online application form released in June itself and an entrance exam is conducted followed by counselling sesson within a week.And you are in the campus. That's way too simple. The entrance exam is not difficult at all. You get into courses depending on your rank obtained in the entrance exam. A few documents including Adhaar card, Marksheets of 10th and 12th, Residency certificate(if not from Amritsar),Migration certificate are required.

The faculty to student relation is really impressive at our campus. They are reachable and concerned at the same time. I like most of the faculties of our department . They are eager to know our problems regarding the subject so that they can solve them and otherwise also. So we have our mid semester exams(MST) in about last of September to Starting of October. The level is moderate. One only needs to revise the notes given by teachers and further we have our end term exams in December. Also practical exams are conducted in November itself. The ratio of students failing and passing depends solely on how well the child has prepared for each exam.
