Remarks
Overall I would say that my college has its share of pros like the presence of vast number of societies for skills and personality development, the connectivity (just seconds away from Pashchim Vihar (East) Metro station), infrastructure and all and cons like the strict attendance and rules for sports , less opportunities for internships etc. Overall, it's above average and one of the best college to be in if you miss out on elite one's like IIT , Dtu, Nsit etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I am pursuing that is the B.Tech in Information Technology follows the syllabus of Guru Gobind Singh Indrprastha University and was last updated in the year 2014 so is pretty updated considering the recent norms and trends. Exam structure in my college consists of a mid term paper of 30 marks which is marked out of 15 in internal marks and the rest 10 marks are for attendance , quizzes and assignments. This is the internal structure of 25 marks whereas the university holds a 75 marks end sem exam so the total marks at the end of semester is computed out of 100( 25:internal and 75:external).
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities provided by the college's Training and Placement Cell is above average in general and arguably one of the best in IPU with notable companies like AWS , EY coming for placements. In my opinion the college is slightly below average in providing ample opportunities for internships but it does guide us in getting one.
College Events
The events celebrated in my college are organised mainly by the leading tech and cultural societies in the college like Google Developers Group(GDG), Zakir, TEDx, IEEE , ACM , Paytm Open Source Society to name a few which organises cultural and tech events like Entheos (A biannual event), Innovicon, Bootcamps and all.
Fee Structure And Facilities
In my opinion, the fees structure of the college is pretty feasible considering the quality of infrastructure and campus life it provides ( PS Our college is the only one with air conditioners in every single classroom and the 7-8 Canteens and good infra ).
Fees and Financial Aid
I know of such scholarships given to those students with exceptional marks in JEE or IPU CET ( Coming in top 1% percentile ) but haven't really heard of anyone getting a sports scholarship or any other scholarships for extra curriculars.
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities include labs which are pretty good and the events and workshops organised by the societies in the college to keep up with the ever changing industries and the latest trends in technologies. As for sports, it is rather inconvenient because of the rules of college stating you can't play before 4 in evening which is even more troublesome if you are in second shift ( Evening batch ).
Alumni/Alumna
The one of the most positive points I found about my college was the omnipresent helpful seniors at every step where you get stuck or need guidance. They not only help you but also guide you through your college life and the interaction part is also not that difficult for introverts ( I am one ) as the seniors approach you through societies or friends. Also the alumni network of my college is also quite active.
Faculty
I have a mixed opinion on faculty in my college as some of them are supportive and knows their subjects to the core and give relaxation on attendance to for extra curriculars and skill development for students whereas some of them are downright strict about attendance and aren't able to clear all the concepts in one go.
