Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is quitely good designed by senior faculty memebers . Teachers teach the concept but they dont explain the practical implementation part which is required for us neccessarily otherwise the course is up to date and we also get real world insights in some lab classes . The exams are not so difficult , if someone has cleared his basics and have understand the topic he/she can easily pass.
Internships Opportunities
During the summer break college gives the opportunity either to do the intership there in the college or to do outside . Its the students choice but internship is mandatory and projects are a must thing . During the placement season college also allows for paid internship opportunities to students . Companies like Genpact , HighRadius etc hire students . And if we got internship of 6months or above we can go outside and do the work .
Placement Experience
Placements are quite good here . Average CTC is around 8LPA offerend by various companies such as HighRadius, Accenture , Infosys etc . Students are eligible from 6th semester for placements and Pre Placement Clases are also conducted in which they taught us Apptitude, English and Technical . 80% of the students got placement and TnP cell is there to take care of all the placement releated issues . I want to prepare for competitive exam.
Fees and Financial Aid
Course fees per semester is around 79500 and hostel fees is around 39500 . Other fees like semester exam registration form fill up fees around 1500 and exam fees is around 1000. Scholarship was given in the 1st year those who have appeared and get admitted through their GIETEE exam only . So In my opinion It is not good as it should provide scholarship on the baisis of merit of all students not only those who have appeared for their exam only.
Campus Life
2 Fest happen in a year . One is Department fest and the other is Giet fest . In fest many competitons happens for all the students in which they caan show their talent and win exicting prizes . Many clubs are also there Like GDG (Google Developers Club) , Innotech Club(Blockchain, AIML, DS) , CyberSecurity Club and AIML-DS club.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel Faciltlity is quite good , no problem with accomodation and environment is also good . We good morning breakfast then luunch then in evening tea/coffee and in night dinner . Food quality can be improved .In hostel , there are 2 and 3 sharing rooms in which we get individual bed , chair and table . Window is also there which is good .
Admission
GIET University is a well known college whole over the India not only in Odisha , I have got 83 percentile in JEE which is not good percentile to get admitted in Other government colleges , and I want to get admitted in Computer Science branch only . So I opted for this college as its placement is quite good and the environment is a boon . Strict rules are followed also. College accepts JEE score as well its own exam score of GIETEE and 12th percentage should be greater thaan 60% to get admitted.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is quite good . The faculty members are very supportive and they encourage to participate for diffrent competitions . I like our FLAT sir as he is very supportive and encourage us to participate in other competitions not only in study like other teachers do . He share with us different opportunities that require for our future growth. Per semester 2 class test and 2 cycle test and 1 semester exam is there and lab exams are also there . Students majority pass the exam . It is quite good .
