Likes
- Infrastructure is really good each classroom consists of two air conditioners and projector is available too.
- They provide with subject called minor for specialisation and it’s up to us to choose which ever minor we want for example marketing, finance, accounts etc
- They include a computer subject each year so it’s helpful for jobs.
Dislikes
- Being a private college they consider internal and external of each subject so it becomes difficult to study both and it becomes excess of work.
- So member of the faculty are little rude and don’t treat you properly.
- They should have decreased the fees and it is a bit more expensive than usual
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is all about business theory they should focus more case studies and real life problem solving. The subjects are all about business eg: Accounts used, Law, management, financial market etc I was influenced to choose as they provide insights of entire business in detail. They do make you real life prepare but not completely as it focused more of theory.
Internships Opportunities
They have department called as placement cell in every few months many companies come to college to pick students for internships they do provide job for different fields like marketing, finance, sales etc Recently few companies came like Glad u came, Timbuckdo, Stone soup etc
Fees and Financial Aid
We have to pay fees in three quarters First instalment 75000 Second instalment 50000 Third of 50000 In total of 175000 It's three years course so each year 175000 I don't have any scholarship but they do provide opportunities for scholarships
Campus Life
There are many fests and events going all around the year some Utkarsh, vihaan, hoonerfest etc The journals and books are provided by the faculty and the library does consist of all the study material. Somaiya one of most know for its sports they do provide wide range of sports activities like football, swimming, badminton etc The campus is huge having 4-5 canteens There are many clubs like business club, marketing club, placement cell etc
Admission
So I choose this college over other college is because every other college having bba or bbm they had their own entrance for that and there one just one college all over Mumbai which took admission based on the hcs percentage. I applied for amity and dy patil and was selected by both. But choose somaiya as it is some what relevant to Mumbai university.
Faculty
Few member are very helpful while some don't treat properly and won't consider your problem you have to ask few times then tell do something about it. There are total 2 exams mid term exams and end exams per semister. A class consists of 60 students per subject teacher. Exams are pretty much difficult based on testing your knowledge rather than theory. Many students fail and have to appear for kt.
