Likes
- Our university campus is very eco friendly. It also verh differently abled friendly as we have ramos and lifts on every parts of the university. The university is spre in about 800 acres of land. There are free bus and electric car services available
- The departments are very good here. Infrastructure of the campus is good. Faculties offered by each of the departments are really qualified and very approachable. The atmosphere provided by the university truly helps us to grow.
- Hostels offered by the university is also of good quality. Mess food costs only 75 rs a day. A Reading room that functions till 3 am is provided. University library is open till 12 am. There are health centre, restaurants and shopping complex inside
Dislikes
- Though most of the teachers are really qualified in their specific areas a few of them are really not approachable.
- There's no full time functioning reading room or library.
- Quality of the mess food is only okay if we are to compare
Course Curriculum Overview
MA English and Comparative literature is a very good course which can provide you insights on the functioning and norms of society from every corner of the world. Apart from the hard core subjects there are soft core courses provided by the course including popular fiction. Canadian poetry, translation, literature from north east india and many more
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for MA English and Comparative Literature is paid semester wise. For the first semester it is INR 19042. For the third semester it is INR 9700 and for both second and fourth semesters it is INR 1700. For each semester's exm registration INR 500 needs to be paid. Degree and provisional certificate fee is INR 2000. For hostel and mess 19400 has to be paid semester wise.
Campus Life
Our university is one of the vest olaces for cultural exoosure as we celebrate almost every festivals of india in our university. Aprt from that each department conducts their own department functions. To talj about the English department every thursdays we have an session of invited talk along with other cultural prigrammes every month we conduct an international seminar which is a very vibrant function.
Hostel Facilities
Each rooms is allotted is eitger three person sharing or two person sharing according to the facilities provided. Cupboards and seperate shelves aoart them are provided. Each person gets their own cot and study table with shelves and chairs seperately. We also have dorms. Each rooms are well lit and fans more than one are provided. Proper ventilation is also there. Washrooms are common. Each floor has a water service that provieds hot and cold water apart from normal temp.
Admission
Admission to Pondicherry central university is conducted through CUET exam. Based on the scores you will be permitted in. As I'm from Kerala this place is near to my home and also far that I have to leave my comfort zones for the exposure. So I rejected other universities that I got in to come to Pondicherry
Faculty
The faculties provided are very well versed and really qualified on their specific areas. Their methods of teaching are really commentable. As the subject needs a lot of exprosure they are working well on providing them. Exams are conducted semester wise and for my course its four semesters and hence four exams. Apart from that we have internals and assessment. The exams are easy and almost every students clear them. Eventhough there are a few teachers who are not at all approachable
