Remarks
I would give a 7/10 to the college and would recommend it to other especially for commerce. The college provides with various opportunities and definitely adds to our experience and knowledge. With the interaction with the outside world its builds our human personality.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course Curriculum is quite basic to Commerce. There are theory and practical subjects and we are also provided with some additional subjects like History and Culture of Punjab and Environmental studies. Other subjects are related to Commerce and will help you in your future studies or degrees. The Exam structure is quite simple. The whole course of BCOM is divided in 6 semi-annual semesters. You will also have Mid Semester Tests(MST) for your practice. 80 marks are written and 20 marks are for Internals. Internals include your attendance, projects etc.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities of our college are quite Decent. Many companies like wipro, Infosys and HCL etc come for recruitment. There are various internship programmes that add to your experience with some additional information.
College Events
The college celebrates alots of fests and events. Various festivals like Diwali Lohri etc are celebrated. Also the college takes part in the Youth Fest and also celebrates the annual fest of the college- Panache. Moreover sporting events are held in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are quite reasonable but comparative to other colleges of Panjab University, it is a bit expensive. But its acceptable as it's the best college in the Panjab University. I paid 22000 at the time of admission and then around 15000rs for every year there on.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides with scholarships and fees waivers for deserving students. And various events are hosted that have prizes like cash prizes which provides financial help to the talented students. More over the students of backward class are given admission at a reasonable amount.
Campus Life
The college has various labs for chemistry, biology and other subjects as well. The ground is not that big but its ok. Each and every activities is hosted in the college from sports to MUNs to fests. The college also has a big auditorium.
Alumni/Alumna
Not only senior and fresher students, but also the Alumnis take part in various events. On the first day of my college, I had no idea about my class, but the seniors assistant me in finding me my class. Not only this but they also solved many of our problems which a fresher is most likely to face.
Admission
The Entrance to this college is completely based on the marks of 12th. After your 12th result is declared, the registration form for the Panjab University will get opened after a certain date. You will need to fill the form and then the college will alloted as per your marks of 12th only. You must 90% or above to seal your spot in GGDSD College (you may get admission if you have other quotas). Then you will just register on the website of the college which has been allocated to you and then pay the fees and you are done with admission.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is a good combination of experienced and young staff. The teachers have proper educational qualifications and skills which are required for the Job. The Faculty is very friendly and helpful.
